The flyable P-38's come with the Ace Expansion Pack. If you haven't bought & installed this pack, they wont be there.

Correct install order for AEP is:

IL2:Forgotten Battles
Ace Expansion Pack
patchil2_aep_201.exe
aep_patch204.exe


If you have Forgotten Battles but not AEP, correct install order is:

Forgotten Battles
patch122_over10.exe

What version do you see listed in the start up screen?

When I patched to 2.04, I lost the Spitfires somehow. They wouldn't show in the game. Uninstalling, deleting FB folder in program files, then reinstalling fixed it.

The P-38 is showing up now but gives me an error when i try to load a game with the plane. But when i install the 2.04 patch the game crashes to desktop when it tries to load the movie.
