Hi All,
I am in the process of making an IL2 Virtual War Movie and need a skin for a PE8 that will make it look more like a Lancaster Bomber. Have any of you skin makers got one, and would it be possible to lend it to me for the movie???

Hi Beebop,
Very nice Mosquito skin, i am very tempted to add this to the movie but i need to know what year the Mosquito was in service, as my Movie is set in 1943. Have you any idea???
It saw service from 1940-1943 or so. Here is a link to a short history of the plane:
http://www.home.gil.com.au/~bfillery/mossie01.htm
The site give preformance characteristics/loadouts etc. It might be useful for your movie.
One thing I found out is it could carry as much as a B-17, further and faster.
Hope this helps.

Didnt it have to see service until atleast 44 since some Mosquitos had the D-day invasion stripes? Or am i just remembering things wrong...?

Right you are. And the US used them as well, mostly for Photo Recon IIRC. I beleive though that by '44 they were considered "secondary" units for the most part.
Could be wrong, (probably am).
