Well, I'm a newbie at making movies. I'm going to make my first movie about an air battle over Moscow, however, I have the recording software and all, but I need a good movie maker. I'm a bit stingy here lol, so I want a free movie maker. I have windows movie maker, but I can't seem to make any effects or any of that sort with it and it only saves the movie in a small 320x240 resolution. So, what I want is a movie maker thath as effects like fadeing in and out, maniplulation of text, etc. I also need a movie maker that can save movies in a fairly large resolution. If anyone knows a good movie maker thats very cheap or even free, please say so. Thanks very much.

Sorry bud, gotta pay to play in this league. Probably PINNACLE STUDIO 8 would be the cheapest. The next step up would be VEGAS 4.0 which can be found for around $240.00 or so.

What version of Movie Maker are you using? Movie Maker 2 should do more than enough if you are just starting out. It does fading, clipping, all sorts of graphic effects. Version 1 is crap. Version 2 will only run with Windows XP.

If you dont have XP it is worth the upgrade. My entire gaming system runs much better now that I went to XP.

I do have XP Home Edition, however I do believe I have version 1 which does absolutely nothing except decrease resolution and make the quality worse.

go to the windows update site and update movie maker to version 2. its what i used for my movies. im sure there's alot better editors, but it gets the job done, is free, and is easy to use.

pardon me for my ignorance but does it(movie maker) edit trk files from FB?

Neg, the Trks are only viewable on FB, you will have to record with a screen capture program such as Fraps in order to get a readable format for Moviemaker.

I suggest downloading Fraps 1.9 for a try at www.fraps.com for recording. You can use WindowsMovieMaker2, download it at www.microsoft.com Both of those are free.
