Has anyone tried the Compaq X09 game computer? Its not the usual family oriented pc. I am also considering building my own this time. If i build my own I can use some of my existing components and upgrade components as I go along.

Building your own is prolly the cheapest and best option.

It may not SEEM like the cheapest because the all-in-one motherboards used in the cheaper systems shortchange you on the quality of the components.

Mine is a combo of web bought and added things to it. The next computer I get, I'm going to build myself.

The components in that rig look pretty acceptable - but to be honest, I'd go with the self-build option.
It's pretty straightforward, you'll get what you want, and you'll learn a lot along the way.
