when i go online the button that says JOIN to join games is grayed out and so r all the servers and i cant join when i click it does nothing
all the other buttons i can click on and they work fine
whats wrong?

Most likely, you're not running the current version. You'll need to download the patch (or two) and install them. There are two versions currently being run, 1.41 and 1.51. The latter has a major flaw in it related to competative play (or cheating in general). There are still a fair number of servers running both versions though, so either should be fine (most people will tell you stick with 1.41).
The other thing is that you'll most likely need PunkBuster, which is a seperate download and install from the patches. There aren't many servers running without it (and I'd be suspicious of ones that aren't, and aren't co-op).
Patches and PB can be found on the main Ravenshield site.

to get 1.51 do i need 1.41 or no cause i just got the game new yesterday so i have no patches

there is a 1.0 to 1.51 patch as well as a 1.41 to 1.50 patch (then patch from 1.5 to 1.51)
but I'd recomend staying at 1.41.....the exploit in 1.5 series is a real pain
