Have you changed scenes in the game and preload terrain? I'll look later tonight when I fly and see what mine looks like.

Those are adjusted in your graphics settings.

As I understand it, and sometimes i dont understand much, The preload is how much textures it pre-caches in memory so you dont have to load from the hd as often. The Scenes are how many you see of the scenery 3d objects, like trees and building. View distance is more likely related to how far you can see detailed textures. Someone may correct this if Im wrong, but I dont think the advanced haze really has anything to do with it, but certianly try it as well. It is a real fps bandit though. Even on hi-end cards.

So, I dont know if that will help do what your looking for, but you should play with those settings to find your confort zone between the eye candy they provide and the game prformance you can live with.

What really makes the distant textures look better for me is the AF, and a lot of it at that. Unfortunately, if you dont have an upper end video card, that may not be an option for you.

You should post all your specs and your dxdiag dump as well. Others need that to help you better, and they can also look thru the dxdiag to see if you have any obvious setup problems. Good Luck
