What ever happened to the colored thermal vision? Seen here:

I think it looks pretty damn awesome if you'd ask me. It's listed under screenshots here:

Did they decide to take this feature out or what? Why switch to black/white?

Black and white is more realistic, but in the Xbox version it will be colored.

They should make night vision colorful too!

night vision is in green since the human eye is more sensible to this color than another (he can see more sort of green than red or blue)
the amplifictaion systeme can not discrimnate/differenciate color. it is very "archaique : it take a photon and with a elctrical system they can amplificate the number of photon(per example if a photon is catch then it produce 100 photon).
but it amplificate "any" photon and give only green photon in back.(it's only a portable photomultiplcator)

the thermal system is differante : they use the sort of photon they capture and don't amplificate the number.Why we can see best picture in thermal mode sometime? Since it's not the same "band" our eyes see in the visible and the thermal system convert the IR in visible band .
i think that thermal systeme work around 10 âµm and our eyes work between 700nm and 300 nm.
the thermal system do a "simple" transposition .

So to keep the game realistic they can't make a night vision colorful.

ps: some will hear that some vision night work in ir; it's real that the rang of amplification google is more large than our eyes and they use some ir but not so far than the therml system (i think no more than 1 âµm).
and IR for night vision is use when the system can catch no photon ; they illuminate with a ir "projector" (like a lamp but only for the night amplificator)
