Thread: F-15C Autopilot Indicator | Forums

  1. #1
I have wanted to know for some time.

The Sue (and the Mig 29) obligingly lets me know when she's in auto-stabilization mode or in autopilot by an obvious indicator light on the panel in the lower right quandrant of the cockpit; the Eagle does not. How the bleep does one tell if the auto-stabilization mode (a holdover from the soviet block simulation or an actual feature of the Eagle?) or the autopilot is engaged in the Eagle?

    Inquiring minds want to know...

Never thought about it, actually. But when you say so, I don't recognize a lamp either.
    Anyone?

Good shout my son, one of those things I often wondered but forgot about when I was writing a post! Also It doesn't bother me now that I have a joystick but I always thought there should be a smalll % gauage for thrust for those using control pads. It would save you looking at the posistion of the lever all the time.

Come on, now. It looks like I'm not the only one to wonder about the AP indication for the F-15.

How about comments from anyone in the know?
    Stormin', Waggs, Shepski, Dayglow, etc...?

This sim rocks: I'm just trying to train myself better. Wigglin' the stick to see what happens doesn't seem like an ideal solution...

As far as I know, there's no visual cue to detemine if the autopilot/alt hold/path hold/whatever are on. It's a little irritating.

Yes, I too have wondered this.
The only way I can tell, is to move the
    joystick....

Don't get the wrong idea, I'm not disatisfied. If there is an explanation for this issue I'd like to hear it from someone...
