Thread: Additional Opening Books? | Forums

  1. #1
    Hi,
I think the option to show openings is really nice in CMX. How can you add opening books? Maybe a trivial question because I couldn't find it in the forum when searching.

And, can anybody recommend a good opening book / openings collection and where to get that?

Yes, I'm a beginner in regards to using Chess Software...

    Hello,

Go here http://chessmaster8000.ubi.com/ and then choose download, theres a link to a Zip with extra opening books. Just unzip them in the Data/Opening Books folder, then u can add any of them to any personality. A good thing could be to add a "_" or something else at the beginning of their name to distuingish them from the default. Thet work with any CM variant from 5k and up.

To make your own or edit an existing one its not difficult. It should be in the manual, but when in Learn/Openings just make the move and its added to the tree. Then add the appropiate weight to it, telling CM how frequent it should be used.
