Thread: Will playing M4 be ok with a Nvidia GF 6800? | Forums

When i loaded the demo of the game, the only system check that had a ? was for the video card saying unsuported/untested.

Will the new Nvidia GF 6800 work fine and will it have a little boost to the game?

well, i have an intel 82845g, witch is unsupported, but it worked nonetheless, but i think nvidia is supported, altho it wont make the graphics look any better.

Uhhh.... NVIDIA is the OTHER graphics card guru isn't it?? I always ran the ATI video card myself .... however, my upcoming NEW home compooter is supposed to have that NVIDIA 6800 GE Force SuperTurbo Overclocked Momma Hummer Premium DoomaFlachy Thingy.... so I HOPE I'll be able to run MYST IV... I can't imagine UberSoft making a game that wouldn't be compatible with at least ONE of the graphic card super powers...

Don't worry that will run just fine unless somebody broke something somewhere. I highly doubt that the newest Nvidia card would have a hard time rendering a few layered textures on a bubble.

My laptop can run the demo just fine. Compared to that card, you can render the game in realtime without slowdowns

I have a Geforce 420 go, it is listed with a "?" in the configurator and everything works well... apart from the snapshots and the menu.

Every time I open the picture viewer I get a noisy pattern where the preview and journal should be, and when I click on the full size pic I see the same noise pattern over the picture.

Same thing happens for the sliders on the menu. I see black boxes or noise patterns instead of them.

(Yeah, I have DirectX 9 and the latest drivers for my video card)

Since you have an nVidia 6800, even if it is only the basic one, you are set for quite some time in playing games: it beats most cards at most games, according to a variety of professional tech sites, and is very highly regarded. This is not to cast aspersions on other cards. It's just that you have no, zero, zip worries.

I am running a BFG 6800 GT OC and it works just fine. More graphic power than is needed for this game which should look just as good on much lower end cards.
