"I heard about that. It's awful."
Otaenak starts eating, hinting to everyone that it's good.
"Thanks."

Jade lifted her glass of milk in a toast, but it seemed inappropriate. She poured herself a large Pepsi and raised her glass and said, "Here's to good friends and special people. May God bless them and their families."
*clink*
She smiled warmly at Otaenak and said, "Welcome to the Revelation Bar and Grille. If you need a place to stay, we have an Inn next door."
She got up and walked to the window, throwing it open wide to let the fresh air inside.

EA walked quickly to the Kitchen, before anyone could see the tears in her eyes. Walking out the back door, she took a few breaths to calm herself (no doubt, overly emotional due to pregnancy.....yeah, right....). Lenny Brisco had been (and still is) her favorite character on L&O. "Goodbye, Jerry Orbach...." she whispered to the night air. She wiped her eyes, blew her nose, and walked back in, going straight over to the Bar. "Give me a Hot Chocolate, Grizz. Wait, make it a double, and put plenty of Whipped Cream on top." Grizz, who doesn't miss anything (except maybe when he's wearing a hole in the top of his counter
) looked a little concerned, but, since it was only a Hot Chocolate, shrugged his shoulders, and brought it over to her, with an extra tissue....just in case...

Jade wrapped her arm around EA, who was obviously grieving. "It will be ok, my friend. We're here for you." {{{{EA}}}} She hugged her friend and then placed a few more cookies in front of her.

"So...I'm gonnna guess cookies are a main 'cheering up' thing?"
Grizz laughed.
"That's one! And then around here there is Grizz coffee, hot chocolate, a warm hug from a friend, a glass of acorn mead, let's see.... Stop me when you've heard enough!"![]()

Norman opened the storage shed behind the Inn and pulled down on the string hanging from the bulb. He rubbed his hands together, anxious to get started. He rummaged around until he found what he was looking for..."There it is...I knew there were some stashed in here." He carried the large box to the edge of the cliff, far enough away from the Restarant and Inn so as to not cause a fire hazard. He found a flat rock and placed a small rocket on it and then lit the fuse, sending the rocket into the air. The Revelation Bar and Grille was shook by a tremendous bang and the customers and people that worked there ran outside just in time to see a gorgeous display of lights in the night sky. "Happy New Year!" Norman yelled. "Come on out here and enjoy the fireworks!" He retrieved a chair from the patio and settled EA comfortably so she had a nice view of the show, but not too close. "Ready for the next one?"
To the cheers of the others, he placed the next rocket on the rock and lit the fuse.
Grizz and Jade, jumping into the spirit of the thing, rushed into the wine cellar for chilled Champagne, ice from the ice maker, and glasses. They carried ice buckets out, each with a bottle in it, and distributed glasses to everyone. Then Grizz popped several corks, one after the other, and poured while Norman got ready for the next display.
And Grizz kept yelling, don't worry about the cost. It's all on the house.
