The detective finaly comes out of his funk......

    "Wha....where am I?"

It seems the detective is going to need some more rest to get over this one.

Jade sighed. Cathy had linked out before she could tell her that Norman had turned the heek table into a pinball machine.

She moved behind the bar to pour a drink and she carefully stepped over the Grizz. "Honestly Grizz, I think you can go to your own room now. No one will mess with your shiny new bar top." She bent down and offered her hand, but Grizz did not move. He kept his arm over his face and was snoozing soundly.

Jade smiled as she handed a room key to Ror. "Here you go, Detective. You look beat. Why don't you stay at the Inn tonight?"

Ror returned Jade's smile and gratefully took the key. As he walked the short distance to the Inn, he admired the old building and thought it looked so serene nestled there on that hill over-looking the ocean. He opened the front door and dragged his weary body up the stairs. He mumbled to himself, "Who needs a good night sleep?" He was quite shocked when he heard the reply.

Grizz came in, stretching and yawning. He really wasn't up for another night spent on that cot behind the bar, but he was still nervous about that new bar top. He sighed.

He went to the closet for the cot, but heard a loud snort followed by a long, shrill whistle, like someone snoring! He turned, and saw someone on his cot behind his bar!!

He instantly saw red! He went over, saw the someone had his arm over his face, snorted, and without any warning at all, turned the cot over!!

The person in it, shrieked, then bounced to his feet and saluted!

    "Aye aye, Captain!" he said.

Grizz's mouth dropped open, and then he burst into loud, long laughter. Finally, he took the little man by the arm, and leaned down to speak quietly in his ear.

"My friend," he said, "I'm sorry to have to tell you this, but I think what you need is to go look for the Age and Country Hotel. I think that's where your story is. Now just come with me, and I'll show you how to get there."

And he led the little man out the door, and pointed vaguely in an indefinite direction.

"That way!" he said. "It shouldn't take more than two or three days to find it."

He watched as the little man trudged off disconslately. Then he went back, took one look at the overturned cot, snorted, folded it up, and put it in the closet.

"The heek with the cot," he said aloud. "I'm going to get some sleep in my own soft, cozy bed over in the Inn."

Cathyk links into the RBG - and is immediately hit by a strong sense of deja vu.

"I've done this before - I can feel it in my bones."

Walking over to the bar, she sets a book down on it.

"Helloo! Anyone about? I found a heek table maintenance book in Amateria."

Turning around, she looks at the heek table, only to notice that the heek table has been replaced by a pinball machine.

    "Ahh."

    "Hmm."

"I think I need something stronger than tea this time round. Between searching for heek table maintenance books and arguing with Ubisoft UK about when they are going to replace my copy of Myst IV which Royal Mail has so very kindly LOST, my nerves are feeling somewhat stretched. A brandy alexander, I think."

As no-one appears to be around, she quickly mixes a brandy alexander, drops some coins in the till, and adds a note to the spindle.

Sipping her drink, she surveys the empty bar.

"Working evening shift plays havoc with one's social life. I'm always out of sync with everyone else."

She begins to sing quietly to herself.

"Have you heard? It's in the stars. Next July we collide with Mars. Well, did you ever? What a swell party this is." Cole Porter (1891-1964)

She opens her Relto book and links out, leaving the heek table maintenance book on the bar.

Very quickly yet quickly, a blue stork enters the barroom with a broom. She sweeps the floor, behind the bar, under the tables, in the kitchen, in the hall, on the stairs, in the closets, and disposes all of the dirt.
"Wow, when was this place last swept?" she muttered to herself.
She looked around the Bar and was quite satisfied with the work done. She puts the broom away and then flies out.

Matt, finding the door of the Revelation Bar and Grille swinging ajar in the breeze of the early morning, rushes in. Finding no one in the bar he checks the kitchen and out the back. Making for the stairs he realises everyone must be asleep and slumps back out.

But he quickly returns with a hefty brown parcel bearing stamps and markings from the world round, all tied up with the flimsiest of frayed tweed, and he carefully places it on the bar.

Scrawling a note and leaving it atop the parcel, Matt retreats into the night.

Mike links in with the most pleasent look he's ever had on his face (practically purring)

he walks slowly up to grizz

"have you ever Dreamed?" he asks while looking out at the infinite starry expanse outside. he walks over to check what's in mattmyat's parcel when something shinny catches him out of the corner of his eye. he turns....

Is a snowman white? Sure I've dreamed. Had a 'beaut' last night as a matter of fact. It was all about this. . ."

He notices Mike's gaze on the pinball machine, and laughs.

"How do you like that? That's Norman's handiwork. Kinda neat, I think. Imagine making that out of a beat up old heek table. Only Norman could do that."

Jade walks into the bar and grille just as Grizz is telling Mike about Norman. She rolls her eyes and snorts. Grizz looks at her and says, "That's not very lady-like, Jade!"

Jade blushes furiously and says, "Oh, did I do that out loud?"

Suddenly Ror flies into the bar and grille, his face as white as a...erm...ghost. "Is there a problem?" Grizz asked.
