Thread: Sound problems when playing LOMAC | Forums

    G'Day all,

When I play LOMAC, after about 10 mins of flight, some times more, some times less, the sound starts to get a crackle sound, or fuzzy sound of static playing over the top of all other sounds. It also appears to pulse, every 3-4 seconds getting louder, then straight back to soft, build up again.

You can hear all the proper sounds, just they are accompanied by this damn annoying static also.

Only way to get rid of it is to quit LOMAC and get back in. Kinda sucks, especially in MP when it makes it harder to hear the RWR.

Any ideas what causing it ?

    MSI FIS2R Neo
    1GB PC3200 DDR
    SB Live
    Radeon 9700Pro Ultimate

I also had the same problems.

Do you have the latest drivers for your card installed?

I had the windowsxp drivers for my soundblaster live and decided to get the drivers from creative's website and the problem went away.

There is a patch dated feb 2003 install that first then install the driver patch also dated feb 2003 (you can't install this patch unless you install the Live Driver Uni Pack.

The Live Driver Uni Pack has other programs like Audio HQ control etc. You don't have to install them you can just select DRIVERS ONLY if you only want the drivers.

After installing the drivers reinstall direct X 9.0b

    Hope this helps

**I didn't turn off sound acceleration by the way since I want my other games to run at full acceleration**
