    I was using uncompressed but am gonna use Huffy or MJPEG from here on out.

    I'm a PC gamer. Any comments I make that don't specifically state a platform you can bet I'm referring to PC.

    All I know is that they all have their problems. Either they're too big to edit easily, too compressed to edit easily, too glitchy in terms of working well with some editors and not others, or they compress well with a lousy picture, or compress badly with a great picture, or don't keep track of time properly with some editors, or... or... or...

    Sorry, I seem to have spent weeks trying to work out what editor to upgrade to and it's been a rough ride. Sometimes I curse the day I downloaded Fraps and started looking into this movie making thing :-)

    congratulations as it seems you have some exp with video capturing or making avi

    he is absolutely correct

    it is strage cause when i was doing video capture (throught software "fraps" or hardware " video in and use virtual vcr, main actor, Vdub and moviemaker2) each one perfromed different even with the same codec

    lol

    you can not gow wrong with a lossless codec
    uncompressed = lossless
    huffy = lossless
    pic mjpeg cand be lossless by settings the slider to 20 but at 19 i can not tell the diff and i look very hard and did testing cause i wanted to make sure

    Digital Overload is the man let me tell you he knows everything right down to frequencies, formats, codecs, etc...

    he is only 20!
    but knows his crap i will give you his site 1 sec

    http://digital-overload-productions.cjb.net/

    i will try to get him to stop by sometime
    he is a SFP1 guy but does admire Lomac videos ( i think movie producing is his first love then flight sims)

    since I have the full version of Divix, it's in my
    codec choices.. but takes forever to build using the
    built in AVI Renderering tool

    DO NOT GO TO THE digital Overload productions site.
    It tries to install Gator/GAIN spyware programs
    on my machine.... I have captured a screen shot
    and will edit this when I can put it on my
    server at home....
    DO NOT GO THERE!.
    If you have, run spybot or ad-aware on your
    pc NOW. -

    The AVI tool renders the fastest uncompressed, using Huffy or Morgan Jpeg (mjpeg).
