Thread: Boycott GR2? | Forums

  1. #1
What do you think? Its apparent that although the game was born on the PC, the devs no longer care about this fan-base:

"Edwards: It's being developed primarily for the Xbox, but it's also coming to PC and PS2 [and GameCube]. But it's important to note that it's being developed from a console point of view. Now we're trying to make it the ultimate experience for the Xbox player."

Its not just the 3rd person view in the E3 video that worries me, everything about the game looks like its aimed squarely at the short-attention span console audience. Maybe we should hit UBI where it hurts and boycott it unless they start taking the PC version seriously and keep the features that made GR so good.

we are all (or mostly) adults here and decide on our own if GR2 provides the gaming experiance we want.

No need to organize a boycott. It's simple really, after making an informed decision based on reviews, demo, and board discussion, most people will decide if they wish to purchase GR2 or not.

I am not an employee of Eagle Dynamics nor Ubisoft and I do not speak for them.
    All my comments are IMHO

You want to boycott a game you havnt seen yet??

and what will you do when u realise that u overeacted and the games great?? still refuse to play it??

The traditional First person is still in the game, its also multiplayer server enforced so theres no fear of problems online with the view.
Like it or not the original GR was being developed for both xbox and PC at the same time, the delay in xbox release was because the xbox was delayed, They managed to release a excellent PC version first time around so im not sure why u think it will suffer this time.

You've not seen any demos/ screens/ footage of the PC version and your talking of boycotting it.

In all honesty i dont think your being fair by judging a game you havnt even seen yet.

Why the hell does everyone have the concept that console players are all little kids?

The thing that blows the most is that when the PC version finally is demoed, and after we realize it is, in fact, completely different from what we expected, most of us will still buy it. Not because we are really that excited about it, but because it has the GR name and they may put just enough "options" in the game to make it tolerable for most of us.

But I remember I wasnâ't too excited when GR first came out because I was used to 8 men in R6. Then GR had 6 but it looked good enough, so I compromised and enjoyed it. GR2 will have 4 and I think most people will compromise again – including myself, and it may grow in me. This is exactly what they are counting on.

GR3 will have 1 person and GR4 will have no people, based on the current rateâ...

But as it has many keep saying, we should just wait and see whats gonna happen.

How's about you buy it if you like it and don't if you don't?

There will almost certainly be a demo before the game is released.

Why don't you play said demo and judge the game on it's own merits?
