Thread: SplinterCell PT Online - Port 80?????????????? | Forums

  1. #1
OK - as requested I'll cut the jargon. I read the port listing to play Pandora Tomorrow online. My PS2 is in the DMZ so it is open to everything - all ports are available to and from it. All my other games work. When playing one that works I can ping my PS2 successfuly. I can never ping it successfully playing Pandora Tomorrow.

I saw that port 80 TCP and UDP is required to play Pandora Tomorrow online. My ISP (Cablevision) blocks port 80 TCP inbound to all thier subscribers.

Is there anyone here that has Cablevision as an ISP and is able to play Pandora Tomorrow online?

Maybe I missed something or set something up wrong.

    Any help would be appreciated.

CincyReds what's your ISP - Do they allow port 80 inbound? Maybe you could lend a little assistance to my question?

Cincinnati Bell's Zoomtown service. I think its only open if your running a server. I dont know if thats the port thats making my mic mess up or what. Its a 3MB line and I cant get a speed more than 3 Bars. I have a tech support question sent so I hope they are getting word that this otherwise awsome game is not running well.

Port 80 is NOT listed in the PS2 manual. It's probably a mistake on the website or manual. The mics being fuzzy is most likely due to a mic problem. It might be a connection issue, but I doubt it has to do with a closed port 80.

Okay - so the game works when I reconfigure my network. Apologies to the forum. I must say though, it's only UBI games that will not work in this configuration and it is a bit frustrating.

Its a long story and I won't go into details but, suffice to say, the game is behind two firewalls. It's something that really can't be moved without making changes elsewhere.

When I move the consiole so it's behind only one firewall - the main one that gets us to the Internet - the game works.

Now to see if I can keep the console behind the first firewall. It means some schmoozing with the wife regarding shared printers that are on the same network segment as the console.

When I move that segment to the main firewall - thus change all the IP addresses - she can no longer get to the shared printer and it's her business printer - this should be fun.

After long hours playing with the two firewalls we finally got SC PT to play behind both firewalls. Such a pain that it was the only game giving us trouble.

Oh well - that's why they pay me the big bucks!!

    LMFAO!!
