Glad you got it fixed. Sory I did not catch your other post sooner, I may have been able to save you some agrivation. I had the exact same problems with Win98SE. I had it, though, well before Far Cry. I was really pulling my hair out. I never did get mine working right though. I finally ended up getting Win XP: problem solved. A word of advice though:
If/when you get Win XP I would STRONGLY suggest getting the full version and NOT the upgrade. Do NOT upgrade Win 98 to XP. I would suggest setting your BIOS to boot from CD, boot using Win XP CD, let it Format your HD and tell it to use the NTFS File system instead of the older FAT 32 File system. Believe me, Win 98 will not upgrade to XP without a lot of problems. Win XP (I have been told) uses the Win NT 32 bit Kernal and Win 98 uses the older DOS 16 bit Kernal. Therefore, an upgrade of Win 98 to XP will most likely cause a lot of problems. I'm no tech GURU but I have been told by a LOT of people who are to NOT upgrade from 98 to XP: it WILL cause problems. Good luck and happy gaming,

You can use the upgrade version of WinXP without upgrading. Just format your HD first then when the upgrade asks for a previous Windows simply put the Win98 in the CD and let it look at that. It will verify that have a previous version and perform a clean install.
