I had posted this in the other forum but thought id repost here:
When i run the game I get the ubisoft/crytek splash screens then the menu, with a dialog box asking me "that I have run the game for the first time, do I want to change settings now?"
Clicking yes makes the game hang. Clicking no, brings me to the menu screen proper where I can change controls, but as soon as I start a game and choose a skill level, it hangs. If I choose options it hangs. On every hang I can tab back to Windows and see the same critical exception Dialog box which shows the error (reproduced from error log below.)
Also, the Dialog box behaves strangly - my mouse cursor does not appear when it is moved over it. The three buttons in the box can be clicked but I have to judge where the mouse is in relation to the buttons to click them. The cursor is visable and works as normal over the rest of the desktop.

Same problem with game hanging at launch
System specs are very similar but using MSI K7N2 Delta board instead looks like cancelling pre order until some bug fixing is done.
No error message appears game just never launches and music screws up.
System specs as follows
Msi K7N2 Delta L
2500 XP Barton Core
512 Mb Ram Crucial
9700 Pro Crucial made
Windows XP Sp1 installed
Direct X 9b installed.
-
I am getting the same error (often) with a lower end system:
Athelon XP 2200
1 GB PC2700 RAM
GeForce TI4400
MSI mobo (can't remember which one)
I reinstalled the demo, which seems to have lessened the frequency of the error, but I still get the crash. It generally occurs when my FPS spikes.
-
im have direct x 9c and same problem!
