    will there be a way for people who have bought chessmaster 9000 to update their version to 10000???

    Really? Well that's news to me!

    I live in the UK and as far as I'm aware we have no upgrade options available.

    It really is sad that chessmaster veterans have to pay 30-40 bucks every time there is a new version. There should be an update for older users. buying the complete program is just not fair.

    Us Fritz users also have to pay everytime we want a new version of Fritz. At least CM series go down in price after a while. I got CMX for $20. We can't really say it's not fair, though. Nintendo never let us upgrade from Mario games to their sequels, and Capcom never let us upgrade from Resident Evil to RE2.

    IIRC, there is usually a short period of time after the new version comes out in which users of the previous version can buy the new version at a $10 discount. I suspect that time has long passed. :-)
