A FAQ link at the top of this forum (like the one in GD) would be good, that will answer the questions (frequent ones) of capture, editing and compression software.
I know they change all the time and are discussed a lot but I think it would be good to have a general outline for newcomers.
Just an idea...

Good idea but link to what? Guess someone needs to set together a FAQ and publish it on da net before Thunak will considering adding a link.
