just curious, will this game have any coop for the actual missions. I'm guessing no?

I think no.....There will online play, where a 2-man team of spies who try to complete objectives like stealing things from a safe and a 2-man team of mercenaries trying to stop the spies completing their objective. The spies will be in regular SC 3rd person, with a non-lethal weapon and all of Sam's moves, plus some extra's like running up walls. The mercs will be in first person, with assault rifles.

A co-op (online or LAN) mode would have been incredible...

And a first in the genre...

    Maybe in SC2

You Can Play Co-operation Over a Broadband connection on Xbox Live, but you can also choose if you want to play two-on-two or 3-on-1.

The Game Modes are: Extraction (think Capture the Flag), Sabotage (you have to place a modem somewhere) and Neutralization (hack into a Safe or computer).
all of them have Co-op teams.

The ShadowNet Spies only have non-lethal weapons, like sticky shockers, Spy Bullets to overhear headset communications and smoke grenades [the only way to kill is breaking their neck or falling from on top]
and the ARGUS mercinaries have Assault Rifles, EMF, motion detection, Torchlights, Frag grenades and Mine Trip-wires.

Yeah, Single-Player is Sam only, but online there is sort of a co-op mode, because you and your partner(s) have to work together to accomplish the objectives of the game mode.
