I installed a GeForce 2 MX on friends comp and this mesasge pops up. I tried installing removeing completely and reinstalling virtually all nvidia drivers and tweaking everyting I could think of but his machine still gives this message. Who here knows what ravenshield goes by to detect your card....what device ID/registry setting so I can manually set it? Thank you.

Make sure your chipset drivers are up to date as well. Game should work fine at the default driver settings. Does he have a third party tweak utility like riva tuner or Power strip? If so some of the settings could be incorrect.

no third party i tried all of those too and then set everything back to default after if didnt work.....i know computers well enough to solve this easy but not in this case.....if i knew what ravenshield uses to decide whether or not the card is supported i could change that but i think it may be deep in the code and cant find it yet... thanks

k, i had a similar prob the other day when i was messing around with powerstrip. Dont know what to tell you. Do other games work fine? Have you ran dxdiag . Maybe try reinstalling directx 9.0b. Before you removed the original card did you uninstall drivers? have you checked in windows device manager to make sure there are no conflicts? also make sure windows views the GF2 MX as the display adapter? Does your motherboard have onboard video? if so disableit in the BIOS. thats all the bright ideas i got. Good luck man.
