Thread: Shooting in PT | Forums

Is it just me or do you guys thing PT has too much shooting?

Esp at the end when you have to shoot 3 peopel under a minute.

Most levels you can just cane your way through.

Also the game has been dumbed down. You get 2 chances. i.e. shoot a guard in broad day light, the other guards will rush to you, rising alarm but it does not end the mission (unless it is explicitly specified that you cannot be detected).

I enjoyed exploring the different ways to sneak past people. And in most times, the game forces you to think.

As for PT, you can actually shoot it through.

Also, not so much locking picking this time.

As far as I'm concerned PT is all about the multi. Who'd have thought they could even pull off multi in a sneaker? Huge kudos to UBI for making such a great game.

In terms of single player though I'm still waiting for Thief III.

I wouldn't necessarily say it's overdone, there are just more objective assassinations. The terrorists in the last mission are actually the only people you absolutely have to shoot, except maybe Jerusalem .. its either kill Dahlia or let her live, but on hard you almost have to kill the snipers waiting for you at extraction if you don't shoot her. They're highly accurate and do a lot of damage.

Well in case you haven't noticed .. on the front cover of the game there's a picture of Sam Fisher ... who happens to not be in the multiplayer, and who happens to be the one hitachi's talking about.

hmm turns out I did notice that and am suggesting that the mp is far far superior to the sp. And that if one wants better single player one might wait until Thief III comes out.

I am cool with the shooting, it is just that SC1 offered more "thinking" opportunities when you have to sneak around and alarms are triggered more easily.

In SC1, if you cannot kill in 1 shot, the guard will raise the alarm and basically the mission is effectively over.

In SC:PT, it is more lenient.

I agree that PT's last level is good (Although you have to kill).

I like the balance between shooting and snealing .. PT is just a bit too much shooting from SC1.

SC1 stood out because of the sneaking elements!
What was the slogan? the stealth redefined or something like that.

In SC1 there was this unique challenge of completing the game with as little kill as possible (1 was the record).

In PT, you are being asked to shoot so much (mission objective) that the low kill high stealth challenge is no longer applciable.

So you can shoot Dahlia! Can you shoot her through the metal gate of the lift or do you have to shoot her before that? Cus i shot her plenty when lambert told me to but nothing happened. Might just be the inaccurate pistol though.
