Thread: F15 Smooth HUD Frame 1.0 | Forums

  1. #1
Here's the first version of a new smooth version of the HUD frame. I didn't notice a great improvement in the quality, but it looks a little better. I'm probably going to mess around a little to see if I can make a higher resolution texture for it. Until then, test it out...

    You can get it here.

I feel like an idiot, but how do you install these things? I got the canopy frame, but the readme doesn't say what to do with it.

    Please help!

I think both can be installed by using LoMan v.2.0
If you don't have it you can downlaod it at Biohaz or Check-six. It is pretty self-explanatory

I think you can also just plop the bmp or tga file in the bazar/temptextures folder. Try it out and let me know if it works.

It would appear, asro, that you and I are on the same issue.

We've both come up with the same problem, and that is the little ray of sunlight under the right hand post. This comes from the fact that the model is wrong; I've seen a lot of head on shots of the F-15 HUD, and the posts should be vertical, with no angle to them. The angle that was added, for some strange reason, may have been thought to make it "decorative" or such, but as we can see, it looks like crap (my apologies to the cockpit modeller- there rest of it looks top notch, but this doesn't look right at all).

I haven't tried a higher-res set myself, and i wish I knew if there's a transparency color for the engine- if so, I'd trim them up right now and be done with it.

Anyways, if anybody wants to see mine first hand, give a shout and I'll throw it up on the FTP.
