i wasnt sure where to put this so i just out it here. Sorry if its in the wrong place.

I first put this on the help request thing but paint drying happens faster.

when i make a server i get a 192.168 ip address, i know this shouldnt happen as this is my internal ip. I am usin windows XP through internet connection sharing and the XP firewall. Any ideas how i can ost a server????

    Thanks in advance

the most simple way is to disable the firewall and dmz your router, if no router but using hub, then just disabling firewall should do it. if you dont want to disable firewall, there are some other posts in here "stickied" that will give more detailed instructions on not only the firewall but what ports to forward in your router if you dont want to open it up.

your computer does not connect directly to the internet? If not, then you have to host from the host computer, becuase your IP is pretty much your connection to the host machine.

thaks for the help guys its really gave me things to try. But sadly none of them work. Ill just have to splash out on a router to be able to host.

    Thanks again for your time
