    How do I fix this..
    I followed the step-by-step and still get this error..

    C3DEngine::MakeSectorLightMap: Requested image size is bigger than size of current renderer window. This problem will be fixed in future releases.

    Are you have shadows from the brushes to the terrain?

    Im just making a simple basic land map. Just to test.
    Added some terrain manually, and applied the textures as stated by the walk through and when I went to generate the texture I get that error. When I play the map I just see the RED replace me.
    What am I missing?

    Unless I've been doing something wrong too the only thing I've come up with so far is to only go one texture bigger than your map and no more. If you use a 512x512 map, when you go to generate texture only use 512x512 or 1024x1024 and you won't get the error.

    Editor cannot generate lightmaps bigger than "map dimensions X 2"?

    I've double-checked the walkthrough step by step, and it does not produce the same error as you mention, so I don't believe there is a typo in the instructions. Perhaps you should try making your perspective view full screen, by double-clicking the top bar in that view, and then trying to generate surface textures again, as suggested by key-node in another thread, as this seems to be a known problem with the editor.

    I generated the texture based on the map dimensions and I dont get the error. But im still having trouble getting rid of the "Red replace me" texture.
    I am at a lose here and Im about to throw in the towel. This doesnt make any sense.
    All I want to do I make a flat island and make it all sand. I set the range and the slope to the right values and I still see the Red. I can use the default layers but I cant change it.
    Do I need to reinstall this editor, its seems buggy?

    Could you take a screen shot of your Terrain Layers Editor window, with the sand layer selected?
