I know this may be a silly question but how do you start a new settlement on another island,like the Go West map.Iv'e got troops and pioneers across but how do I start building?

You have a couple of choices here

- either make a foundation cart and load that on the ferry and take it to the island

or use thieves to pick up wood and stone, then load them on the ferry and take them there.

To use the thieves - build a storage yard and have wood, stone and some tools brought to it. (Axe, saw, pickaxes)

Bring some thieves near the yard, then either demolish the yard or stop the storage making the carriers drop the goods. Highlight a thief and using Ctrl and right click send it to pick it up. As it does this hold down the Alt key and then right click to the destination near the coast line where the ferry is waiting. Repeat for other thieves, then when you have enough wood, stone and tools, still using the Alt key, right click on the ferry and the thieves will board.

This can take a bit of practice though, so good luck!
