Classification of Frontier tracks by difficulty

Hi everyone!! With the help of my friends Territory8, Guunners and a few other French players, we tried to do a subjective classification of all the Frontier tracks sorted by difficulty.
We used the same difficulties than those of the console the Trials games to sort the tracks. So there are 5 difficulties: beginner, easy, medium, hard, extreme. We've sorted the tracks for each Tier of tracks.

To find easily the tracks, we've also sorted the tracks like this:
    - Story tracks
    - Slot machine tracks
    - ANBA tracks
    - Halloween tracks
    - Bunker tracks
    - Winter tracks

An other indicator that helped us to sort the tracks is the time gap between rank 1 and rank 20 for example.

    - The 3 exclusive Bunker tracks are not included because we don't know to which Tier they belong, but we all think that they are easy tracks.

    - The tracks are written in English and in French (some French people didn't have a good English and needed a translation).

The main objective of this topic is to get your opinion, to know if you agree or disagree and what you would change.

    Here is our classification:

Hi I'd like to help think about this, but I have some questions about your rating . Is the rating about difficult to pass, difficult to get platinum, or difficult to make a perfect run toward a high rank (maybe top 100 on leaderboard)?

(I don't play console trials, so I don't know how tracks are rated on there)

Edit: I think the Quagmire must be harder than Traction Testground. They have very similar skill sets but Quagmire has the addition of the big jump that I think sets it apart in terms of difficulty.

    i have the same question.
    for example,
Pipe Bassin is in EASY, but timesaver is difficult (skipping the big gap at the end of track), and the difference between WR and 20th is about 2s.
Arch Ruins is in HARD, but the timesaver is easier (compared with Pipe Bassin), and the difference between WR and 20th is less than 1s.

platium time 0:21.200 for Pipe Bassin, and 0:20.500 for Arch Ruins.
without timesaver, i think it's even easier to plat on Arch Ruins than Pipe Bassin.

but if i'm a beginner, maybe Arch Ruins looks harder than Pipe Bassin for me, it just looks scary.

Beginner/Easy/Medium are so subjective/subtle I wouldnt comment about them.... but if you have good way to classify them thats wonderful!

An other indicator that helped us to sort the tracks is the time gap between rank 1 and rank 20 for example.
And ones with large differences are considered harder I assume? Interesting idea. The problem overall there (to me) is that this seems to be more of a "How much is Kartank/GtDave better than everyone else" meter more than anything else.

Are there other indicators you tried? Did you try sorting by percentage of users who have made Plat, or something like that? Of course, you would need to know the Plat scores and I find the current lists for that a little inaccurate sometimes....(ex Arch Ruins)

What you have is really good, IMO, but to provide some input based on how hard they were for me, here are the changes I would consider:

    Not really extremes to me
    - Rotten Railway (Hard, sure. But how good you hit one timesaver doesnt make it extreme, IMO. Maybe I am missing something?).
    - Great Wall (I guess so... it seemed hard but not extreme... maybe its Plat time is difficult to hit?)
    - Dark Machine (hard not extreme; having no checkpoint makes it seem harder than it is)

Hards that dont seem hard to me (if you can get Plat with decent driving and no timesavers, its not hard)
    Troll Lair
    The Tanktops

Arch Ruins is in HARD, but the timesaver is easier (compared with Pipe Bassin), and the difference between WR and 20th is less than 1s.
platium time 0:21.200 for Pipe Bassin, and 0:20.500 for Arch Ruins.
The only reason I didnt mention Arch Ruins as not being "hard" is because you pretty much need the timesaver to make Plat. That was my definition of "Hard". Because Plat isnt 20.5 like the guide says... its lower (I think I got 18.5+ without the timesaver and got Gold).

i disagree that "The great wall" is "extreme" and "the grindhouse" for me belongs to "Medium" cause platinum is 24.000 sec and you can easily do under 18.000 , but 24.000 seconds is ridiculously slow time for platinum, for me they should have 24.000 gold and 19.500 platinum on grindhouse...also trapeze churn for me is not "medium" but "hard" if you include both timesavers in the track....last one frog village is "medium" for me and not "hard"

@weee99, you said almost all the answers to your questions !!

In fact, the two most important elements are : the global difficulty of the obstacles of the track, and the time of the platinum medal to do.

@Roger-_-Lee, i understand waht do you want to show, but i dont think think taht you right.
First, the platinum medal for arch ruins is around 16 or 17 seconds, not 20.5..
It means that we need to do the timesaver to have the platinum medal or do an epic awesome run without the timesaver to have platinum medal.

Secondly, on a lot of tracks, a minority of people use different road, cut, that all the people but it doesn't means that the difficulty of the track up.
For example, look at " three bridges ". Some people make a back wheel on the end, this manipulation is very difficult !!
Nevertheless the track is from beginner because we not necessarily need that to have platinum and obstacles are very simple.

@xitooner, you dont understant what i wanted to say.. I 'm just saying that for almost all the track, more the differences are important, more tracks are likely to be difficult.

My personal opinion on the tracks that you mentionned :
    - Rotten railway, agree with you, the platinum medal time is large.
    - Great wall, definitely extreme track. The time to have the platinum medal is short.
    - Dark Machine, this track is very particular because it has no CP. For this reason, we are obliged to assess the difficulty of the track.
But yeah, If you add the CP, the track is medium/hard level.
    - Troll lair, for me, this track can't be with others medium tracks even if the the platinum time is large.
    - The tanktops, maybe medium yeah

I wait more reactions to change maybe the tracks.

rewind you :Its not my personnal ranking even though i'm globally agree with it.

That all works for me (the Dark Machine ending is particularly tricky and I really wasnt accounting for that I think). But I have to say that I farmed Troll Lair for Nuts+Gems so many times I think I have literally made Plat on that one in my sleep a few times. But my global ranking on it sucks so I am no great judge beyond that.

Good job, and thanks for listening!

A lot of french players have an experience with Trials Console, that's why we have had the idea to create this thread.

I know that a lot of people who play at Frontier never play on Console, and that's why it is very important to have their opinions about what they think about difficulty of the tracks.

    Thanks everybody.
