I am running the PC version. I completed the special objective in M03 Stone Bell in Elite during a Quick Mission in Mission Mode to unlock the silenced sniper for J. Stone but nothing happened.

Does this mean that Special weapons cannot be unlocked on the PC Version?

I also have Island Thunder installed. Does this make a difference?

Has someone changed space and time whilst I was asleep to completely change how GR works?

(just kidding, I can figure out that this secret weapons crap is exactly the kind of thing you'd expect to see in a console game...do they have jetpacks as well? )

Completing the additional objectives within campaign mode will unlock specialists. These individuals have better stats, cooler outfits and more powerful guns than your standard ghosts.

Thank you, and goodnight.

Doing certain things on certain mission types on particular maps is a console-only thing. On PC, you only unlock things by completing the special objectives in the campaign. When you play quick missions, you'll have access to all specialists that you've unlocked in the campaigns.

But you can get other ones through the IT mod - which you said you had. If you go into a quick mission and scroll through the weapons kits available for your regular Ghosts (not your specialists), you'll find there's a whole host of other kits they can carry. For example, in a campaign a standard rifleman can have one of four kits, all based around the M16, right? Well, with IT, in quick mission, if you scroll through the options, you'll find there's over 20 kits, with various weapons, including the AK47... Hope that clears that up. Go play, have fun! If there's other weapons that you want that are already in the game, you can use Igor to create a new kit (or modify an existing one) for someone, so you could try out other guns that way. Don't worry - although it's not what the consoles get, the PC one is far better, coz Igor lets you write your own missions. And your own campaigns even... Check out the Mods Forum for more on that... Thanks.

I haven't played for very long, but I love this game. When does GR2 come out?

Try finishing all the objectives in campaign mode. there you can unlock the specialist.

If you are playing without the expansions(DS,IT) you cant unlock a silenced sniper rifle.

In IT there is an SR25SD, which you can use for multi and quick mission modes.

OOoooh don't get me started. ot soon enough would be my answer.

I also love this game (much to my wife's dismay )

But before you get to far ahead theres still alot out there for you to see/do.

1. (if you havn't already) get DS & IT cos there awsome.
2. get online then this game realy come into it's own.
3. go a get a bucket load of mods especialy frostbite.

then if you still have any spare time or a hint of a life outside GR then start dreaming about GR2.

Hope to see you online soon
