well, it all started when i got a chapters card for xmas. so the other day i went to chapters and bought the january OXM, which is the one with Fable on the front (fable looks super wicked awesome cool!). So this issue had the demo disk with Deus Ex and some other stuff.

naturally, the first game i played was deus ex. and actually, it wasnt what i expected. i beat the demo pretty easy, but some of the game dynamics looked kinda lame.

i mean, you have to shoot a guy like 3 times in the face before he dies (pistol).

also, i think this game would be soooooo much cooler as a 3rd person shooter. i mean, the main character (alex d..........the d stands for "dont ask") is really cool, and i dont think the first person view really suits the game.

i really like being able to throw stuff around, and the augmentations are pretty cool, but......you cant even kill an average civillian with a close range shotgun in one hit.

what is up with that??????

PCZone gave it 86%

they said it was more of a shooter than an RPG, and was too console-orientated (bearing in mind this is the PC version)

it has gotten rid of the complicated Skills and Augmentation screens (which isnt necessarily a BAD thing) from the first one

so if oyu want a no-brainer shooter with a few upgrades, good AI and numerous paths to choose from, this is your game

i thought the shooting aspect was kinda lame.

did you read my post? about the 2 shots in the head doesnt even kill people?

not an RPG? theres plenty of KOTOR like dialog choices....

i honestly hate deus ex iw. the first was a great game, almost unparalleled by any shooter OR rpg in a while, but invisible war was a disappointment. Attrocious (sp) voice acting, almost unplayable framerate, corny plot and action, really not as strategic as the first. i think it was really, really rushed

making a choice about what you say to someone doesnt make it an RPG

what made Deus Ex so good was its use of the ability to chose your skills and augmentations, of which there were doezens

Deus Ex 2 has cut the skills out COMPLETELY and the Augmentations are greatly reduced

and the interface is too much like the PS2 version of Deus Ex with the weapon slots, as oppose to an actual inventory where you can only store so much

i mean, a pack of cigarrettess taking up the same room as a rocket launcher is just STUPID!

I cant play it because I doesnt suport GeForce MX series. [img]/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-mad.gif[/img]
I think that it is first game that I cant play with my graphic card (GF2 MX400), and I actualy like it because of that. [img]/i/smilies/16x16_smiley-happy.gif[/img]

I'd give it an 8.9. I think OXM's reveiw was very fair.
