I was getting lock ups/hangs whenever I clicked the FLY button. The game would stop responding and I would have to Ctrl-Alt-Delete to get out of the game. Sometimes I would have to reboot my system to get out.

Anyway, I switched my display mode to windowed mode by unclicking Full Screen in the Graphics menu just in case it happened again. This way I could easily close Lock-On if it happened again. And don't be dis-illusioned with not having it full screen. When in windowed mode the only difference is that I see my windows taskbar while playing te game. Now, I can live with that until this problem is fixed.

After unchecking Full Screen the game ran fine. No more hanging/freezing at the loading screen.

And to make things even more weird...when I intitally tried this, it ran in windowed mode as described above, but now for some reason it's running in Full Screen Mode even with the Full Screen box unchecked. Go figure? So that's how I got it to run. Maybe it will work for you maybe it won't. I just wanted to try and help as I know the frustrations you are going thru.

I for one greatly appreciate the help. I have and will help anytime I can also.
I was getting an error message every time I hit the fly button, and have to reboot. I have two computers, and one is fine, game runs great, the other is having this problem.
It sounds like the same problem you were having.

I tried it, and still get the error, and have to reboot.

Did a RESTORE piont to before loading my NividiaTI4400 drivers, and it works!!

Now I need to figure out how to install the Ti4400 software again so I can change settings of card. They are gone now that I restored.

Someone else got rid of that by updating their video and motherboard drivers.

Your right "DayGlow", updated the drivers from Nividia and all is great now. Now Im playing with the options in the game to get it to run smooth with the most I can get out of it.

I still get the hang ups. I've done the window thing, got the latest Nvidia drivers last night, and have WinXP. I don't get it.

I'm having this exact problem. The game only seems to work in non-windowed mode if I fly at 1024x768, which seems to be the same resolution as the ingame UI. However, if I switch to windowed mode, I can fly at any resolution.

Windows XP SP1
Athlon 2800+ on Asus A7N8X Deluxe

Is Catalyst 3.8 good enough for a Sapphire Radeon 9600 Pro 128MB videocard or should I get the 3.9 that was just released?

Sorry if this sounds newbie, but where do you find the motherboard drivers?
