I disagree, i think the mutants add in that extra fear factor into the game.

Yes, after diving off the cliff in the dam level, I was running for my life! I could practacally hear them breathing down my neck. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, and it scared the devil out of me.

I think they can (and should have) the mutants and still have a viable realistic game, They just needed less of them and made them more of a challenge to kill. I'd rather have a mutant on the level of a predator to take out, then 20 of the regulars mutants in this game.

The big boy (which was a straight rip of the Super Soldier from RTCW) is the biggest mistake. I mean really, why oh why, would they ever replace an arm with a rocket launcher, just doesn't make sense no matter how mad the scientist. Plus I don't think they would ever make a beast that is big and painfully slow, just to so it would have greater hitpoints. Sneaky, tactical beasts will always win

Which gets me off into my whole other side rant. Why is it the Super Hybrid mutants they create, are always inferior to the regular joe. The only way the mutants can win is to have a 10-1 advantage and I not have any ammo. What's the point of that ? Whether they are mutants or not, a 10-1 advantage is all you need in just about any war.

Of course, I'm not complaining just about Far Cry. I've grown frustrated with all the games that have these super soliders themes, where the super solider is no more than just a better equiped solider.I'd rather the Super Solider have a cheat or something (like Wall hax), something that "really" sets them apart and makes me say "Oh no, not him again" Versus. Oh a Big Boy, let me just circle strafe and shoot until he's dead. OOOOh real scary there.

I thought the encounters with the "invisible" guys were pretty scary. If I thought there were any about I'd madly start chucking smoke canisters all over the place to make them visible. Most of the time there was nothing there.

I agree, I found them to be the most exciting to battle with, but not very smart or clever. Not to mention, if had the crytek vision that would show you their heat sigs. Maybe I should have not use those to get a better experience
