A long time ago my dad bought my family a new computer, he also bought Myst to showcase it. From that day nearly 8 years ago, Myst has always had a dear place in my heart. When Riven came out, I went to great lengths to save up enough money to upgrade my CD-ROM drive to the minimum required 4X speed, I was in 7th or 8th grade with no computer hardware experience, but I was so desperate to play Riven that I dared to replace the CD-ROM drive myself, which I did successfully. After a long period of time, Myst faded from the scene until finally, RealMYST came out and the announcement of Myst 3 brought new excitement to the scene. RealMYST helped me relive the classis experience, and as I waited for the new Myst I decided to read the books (BoA and BoT). That pretty much did it for me: I was a fanatic.
By the time Myst 3 came out I was so busy I barely had time to play it, I never even finished it to this day. Time passed and finally Uru started to shape up, and not too long ago it was released. Admittedly, I had since lost interest in the series so I didn't even buy the game. Two days ago, I decided to finally read the Book of D'ni, which I had bought a while ago, it was the only book I hadn't read. Here I am, fresh off of finishing the book and reading several threads here in this forum, and I have to say my love for the series has been revived. I'm going to play through Myst 3, at the same time read through the Book of Atrus and Book of Ti'Anna again, so that when I finally start playing Uru (bought it last night), I can finally see D'ni.
Right now, I'm so excited I can't put it in words. Oh wait, yes I can: WOOOOHOOOOO!!!!!!! Can't wait to explore D'ni, yeah!!
