Thread: Mission Editor confusion :( | Forums

  1. #1
Hey buds and budettes (if there are any out there). I've been working on a mission which involves the A10 stopping a terrorist convoy containing a truck w a bio-chemical weapon and also a troop truck carrying an under-cover cia agent posing as a terrorist. The goal of the mission is to prevent this convoy from reaching a certain city before the terrorist can assemble and unleash this WOMD to unknowing innocent victims living in this city. These 2 trucks must not be damaged in anyway but the rest of the convoy consisting of rocket launchers,SAMS,etc. must be destroyed. I got the mission to work almost except an ai plane always seems to toast the truck which theyre supposed to defend. I have the target as defend but it doesnt seem to work. I guess I dont know the mission editor fully..and there is no good documentation on it that came w LOMAC. If anyone knows of a good tutorial or can offer some help..Id be vewy vewy grateful
    Thanks,

Did you put the A-10 in Blue, the terrorists and the CIA in Red?
In that case the CIA is the enemy of the A-10.

I guess being on the other side goes before any defend goals you may have set.

I guess you know this stuff, but if the trucks are part of the same group that you have to destroy, they will be destroyed too...They should be in a separate group...

If the trucks you want defended are on the opposite side then it isn't going to work. If the trucks are on your side then the other forces will attack them.

We never created an option to have your forces defend assets of the enemy.

That makes sense..eventhough the truck is to be defended..if its seen as the enemy it wont matter..Thanks

I imagine that if you are onlly using troop carriers (i.e. trucks, not BMPs or BTRs) you can make a "mixed" convoy (two groups) on the same road right next to each other, I assume they won't attack each other (because they can't)...
