For those of you that have the RVS demo disk, and are having trouble with other players joining your hosted games, we are aware of the problem. For now, if you want to host games for players that do not have the extra maps available on that disk, there are a few options:

1. Ask the other players to pre-order RVS from Ebgames so they can get the demo disk.

2. Delete the extra maps on the Xbox hard disk that came with the demo.

As soon as more information becomes available, I'll let everyone know.

Can you buy the disc seperately?

Yes you can buy the Demo Disk for 9.99 at Gamestop EB.
Buy it! It's really cool, I have finished the RS3 demo game and its way to cool!

JJ when are we Europeans going to get the levels??

JJ (or anyone from Ubi):

1. When will the maps be available as download content? (Presumably, that will solve the problem as well.) Not until RVS comes out or even after?

2. Is is still possible to purchase the RVS demo disk without pre-ordering RVS? (Retailers such as EBgames and Gamestop do not appear to be offering the demo disk separtely anymore.)

This oversight effectively limits the universe of available players to "almost none" on Live, for those hosts that have hunted down this hard to find disc and installed the new maps.

I hope a fix is coming soon.

How about:

1. Make the maps available as downloadable content.
2. The maps would be for use only on Live; not as missions in single-player.
3. In order to host, you must buy the disc (you still need *some* incentive for people to buy it, right?)

- The maps should be made available as soon as possible for all Xbox live customers. I can't say for sure when that will happen, as there we (meaning ubisoft) aren't the only company involved in the undertaking. Microsoft has the last word on when stuff goes out over Xbox live.

- The demo disks (as far as I know) have only been made available to EBGames and Gamestop. So our European customers may be out of luck on this one. Sorry guys.

- The demo disk is intended to be free of charge and only available to customers who preorder Raven Shield. If any local retailers are selling the demo disk, please let me know.

Damn, for all of the complaining about not being able to get the disk, because it has been sold out locally, there are an awful lot of you complaining! Two things, if you have bought the disk, then you have nothing to worry about (unless you want to host), if you haven't bought the disk, go online and buy it! Enough complaining about "the local game stores don't have any left"! It is only $10 friggin' dollars, and if you don't want the R63 Demo afterwards (which I can't see how that would be), then just don't go back to EB or Gamestop and give them the rest of the money. IT IS THAT FRIGGIN' SIMPLE!


I am just sick and tired of hearing the same whiny brats complaining about not having the new maps. You are the same people who would be complaining about getting these new maps had they been available for download at a $10 charge! Atleast this way you get the maps, plus a new map for Splinter Cell, as well as an excellent demo of R63!

What are you saying? I mean ... you know there's a problem ... isn't the simple solution to release the 4 maps over DLC asap?

I understand the marketing idea behind putting the maps on "pre-order disk" for another game - but it appears to me that this hasn't really been well thought out - now people can't play together if they don't have the same set of maps etc.. Either (a) UBI didn't think about the implications of doing this, or (b) they did, but didn't care that it would affect the gaming experience. In either case, it seems like GR:IT'ers lose out.

So ... fix the "error" and release the maps via DLC. :-)

This would also help your European gamers (of which I'm one!). Even if we wanted to pre-order RS3 and get the maps - we can't, cause you didn't ship it to Europe :-(

Your post hints that MS are involved in agreeing when DLC goes out. So ... are they blocking you releasing the maps at the moment? If MS have a decent release strategy/process for DLC (which they must have - after all, lots of games are using - or promise to use - DLC!), then I can't believe MS would block (or inadertantly delay) UBI/GR:IT content. What do they get out of doing that? (Oh - I should say, I work in IT, so I understand that releasing software isn't /that/ easy - but it's not /that/ hard either! :-) ).

So ... what say you JJ? :-)
