Every site does this every year. We won't be left out! but we're going to do this a different way. We want to award the best games of the year based on all our opinions, to that end I have devised a brilliant strategy.

Step 1:

Best Game That Doesn't End (mmo): World of Warcraft, even if I haven't played it, it seems to be the most popular out of all MMOs.

Best Fighting Game: Tekken 5
Innovative Game of the Year: Katamari Damacy

I would like to note that I didn't include games that were released in late 2005 (like DragonQuest VIII, FFIV Advance, or DOA4). Also, as much as I'd love to include MGS3 in Game of the Year, for instance, it was actually released in 2004 for the U.S. So my list looks really ugly, oh well.

It was year of slim pickings all-around.

Game of the Year - Resident Evil 4.
Best Action Game - Ninja Gaiden: Black.
Best Platformer - Psychonauts (no competetion).
Best Strategy Game - Civilization 4.
Best RPG - Nothing worth noting this year, so I'll pick Planescape: Torment because it's the best ever.
Best Game Where You Rock Out (music game) - Guitar Hero, natch.
Best Puzzle Game - Meteos.
Best Sim Game - Civilization 4 (hey it's a sim game, too).
Best Game That Doesn't End (mmo) - Don't play them.

Best Action Game - God of War and FEAR. If I HAD to choose, then FEAR.
Best Platformer - Conker Live & Reloaded was the only platformer I played... had I played Psychonauts I probably would go with that.
Best Strategy Game - Civ 4
Best RPG - I played zero RPGs this year. That's rather strange... but I'll give a nod to DQ8 because of all the stuff I've heard from other people.
Best Game Where You Rock Out (music game) - Karaoke Revolution Party. Guitar Hero as a runner up.

Best Sweaty Sports Game - NBA 2K6 on the 360. They have the absolutely most amazing sweat technology.
Best Racing Game - Burnout Revenge or Forza Motorsport.

Most Innovative Game - Pac Pix
Best non-sweaty sports game - Hot Shots Golf Open Tee

Had to give props to Phoenix Wright SOMEwhere... one of the best games I played this year!

I can only fill in a few since I don't play games in a lot of these genres.

Game of the Year - Burnout: Revenge (Xbox) [I'm so going to be alone on this one]
Best Action Game - Condemned: Criminal Origins (I think this would go here)
Best Platformer - I'd probably say Kameo but since I still haven't taken the game out of it's case, I'll say nothing.
Best Strategy Game - Oh. I've got one. Advance Wars: Dual Strike (DS)
Best RPG - I don't play those. EVER.
Best Game Where You Rock Out (music game) - I've got nothing.
Best Puzzle Game - Hexic HD (Xbox 360)
Best Sim Game - Animal Crossing: Wild World (everyone else seems to be putting it in this category)
Best Game That Doesn't End (mmo) - Never played one.
Best Sweaty Sports Game - Tiger Woods 06 (Xbox 350)
Best Racing Game - Burnout: Revenge (Xbox)

There really wasn't anything that stood out this year as a truly amamzing game. Hope 2006 will have some amazing games for the next gens. I am looking Nintendos way. . .
