Oh god...this is going to a problem for me. You see, I typically don't finish a game (I just get really close and call it quits when I fail a certain portion so many times...especially if the savepoints are few and far inbetween). God, I still have like 15 N64 and 9 Xbox titles to wrap-up, including my on/off love affair with Morrowind (I play it in 6 month cycles). I guess I'll start narrowing down my list now.

PDZ
Call Of Duty 2 As much time I spend playing them I should be have finished them 2 weeks ago, I guess I should lay off LIVE for a few days until I am done with the agent mode at least. But if it is any consolation I am coming up on my 1,000 Head Shot Kill & 1,000 Explosive Kill achievements. |

My list of games to finish is realllllly long. I haven't finished a game since I started playing multiplayer games online. I enjoy xbox live way more than any single player. The last game I beat was Halo 2 I think.

Hmmm...
1) XenoGears - (over)hyped by lots of RPG fans for good and bad reasons. I am willing to bet it's more good than bad though, and for it to have that big of a reputation, it HAS to be a good RPG...right?. However, this rare gem still remains in my stash, unplayed, near-mint... Why am I not playing it? I have no frigging idea. 2) Legend of Dragoon - I honestly have no idea how I ended up with this Squaresoft(?) RPG. Just one day, boom, there it was. Perhaps it's my sister's, I dunno. Really curious about playing this but for "some reason" I'm not playing it. 3) Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask - Say what you will, N64 bashers, but most of Nintendo's self-made 1st party games are all good. LoZ: Ocarina of Time was indeed legendary, and Majora's mask is just as fun, if not more than fun. But for some reason I mysteriously "stopped" playing this game, after gaining the Oni Link mask... 4) Gran Turismo 3 - I'm secretly a car freak, and played GT1 and GT2 to death. I think part of the reason why I lost desire to play this game is its ultra-challenging license test requirements. Other than that I played at least 50% of this game, and I somewhat still intend on unlocking everything else that needs to be unlocked...if time ever permits. This is also the exact reason that is preventing me from buying Gran Turismo 4... 5) Final Fantasy IV Advance - this one will be finished pretty soon, I'm just taking my time to savor the moments, and preparing myself for the upcoming extra challenges previously not present in the original. lol, so...yeah. Some of these games are 5+ years old, and Xenogears may be even 10 years old. I should hang my head in shame for letting life and priorities beat me down. I'm not the big gamer that I used to be. On the bright side, at least I managed to finish Final Fantasy X and Final Fantasy X2 (though FFX2 drove me insane after missing 1% for 100% completion which prevented me from seeing the extra Tidus/Yuna scene). 2 down, 5 more to go! |

Guess you're lucky you were born in to a capitalist society I am actually a secondhand gamer in the sense that paying $40-60 for a single game bothers me, and I would much rather buy used/never-used-old-games. I guess I'm just so far behind on playing the new games that I was/am excited for that I'm still playing the ones off of late N64 and early Xbox. It's almost if I have a 2-3 year slow reaction time. Considering that the only game I've ever really finished in my life is Burnout 3 (100% complete with almost 600 hours played), at first I was going to skip over this but when I thought about it, I decided I'll try.
As longas we're counting just finishing the main story/campaign as beating a game, my 3 will be: - Call of Duty 2 - Condemned: Criminal Origins - Kameo: Elements of Power Ok. So they're not really "old" since they're all for the Xbox 360, but I do need to get playing them since Kameo hasn't even come out of the case yet & I've only beaten one level of Condemned. This is why I don't normally buy Single Player games. |

Last year I set a quota of beating 3 games per month to hopefully catch up with my ever-increasing stockpile of games. At the end of each year, I compile a list of favorite to least favorite games beaten that year. Even if I don't meet the quota, I will still have accomplished more than if I had never taken steps towards that goal.
Here's my list from last year. I noticed it's a few shy of my goal, but it's good nonetheless. The list reflects the title and the format of console for each game. I beat Super Mario Bros. via the SNES cartridge Super Mario All Stars + Super Mario World. The Legend of Zelda was beaten using the Legend of Zelda Collector's Edition Gamecube disk; hence the platform of Gamecube. Metal Slug X, although beaten on a PS2 was beaten using the PS1 game disk. (There were more than a few raised voices when this list was originally posted April 11, 2004.) Ranked Games Beaten in 2004 01. Advance Wars 2 (Gameboy Advance) 02. Shining Soul II (Gameboy Advance) 03. Astro Boy (Gameboy Advance) 04. Super Mario Bros. (Super Nintendo) 05. Mega Man 2 (Playstation 2) 06. Mega Man (Playstation 2) 07. The Legend of Zelda (Gamecube) 08. Capcom vs. SNK 2 (Playstation 2) 09. Super Monkeyball 2 (Gamecube) 10. Metal Slug X (Playstation) 11. Fable (Xbox) 12. Jak & Daxter: The Precursor Legacy (Playstation 2) 13. Street Fighter 2 Special Championship Edition (Genesis) 14. Gitaroo Man (Playstation 2) 15. Super Mario RPG--Legend of the Seven Stars (Super Nintendo) 16. Castlevania II: Belmont's Revenge (Gameboy) 17. Gigawing 2 (Dreamcast) 18. Capcom Fighting Evolution (PS2) 19. Future Tactics (Xbox) 20. Jet Set Radio Future (Xbox) 21. Arc the Lad (Playstation) 22. Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (Xbox) 23. XIII (Xbox) 24. Golden Sun (Gameboy) 25. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time (Gamecube) After making the list, I reflected on each game to make sure it was properly placed. I feel confident each game is at least in the correct sector (set of 5 games). I'm not saying each game has a possibility of moving 5 ranks. Fable won't go higher than rank 11 for me, but the rank 11 spot could be contested by Gitaroo Man. Ranking the top 5 was definitely the most difficult for me. All five are wonderful games which I encourage everyone to play. I also hesitated just a little in determining the lowest ranked games (which reminded me, I had to separate Golden Sun and The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time from the other 3 games in the sector). ------------------------------ Laugh and the world laughs with you; cry and you cry alone. ------------------------------ |
