Ok guys and gals, I have managed to speak with Serellan this afternoon regards the Southpaw option, this is what he had to say to me:

"Southpaw will not be available at ship.

We have the message, the appropriate people have been notified."

You now know what the latest is regards this situation, so let's move on to something else please.

Well does this mean they are going to include the option later on via a patch? or does this mean they arent going to do anything?

Well, he said it won't be avaliable on ship, which would strongly imply to me that it will come out via a patch.

So.. what does this mean? A patch in a few weeks? A patch in 4 months? A financial analysis to see that they might lose 1% of their sales, since none of the reviews seem to mention it, and that it's not worth the effort to patch?

Sorry, but I think the topic needs to stay in the forefront to warn other left-handers what they're currently getting when they purchase the game, which is the ability to play gimped and get your butt whooped by high-pitched 10 year olds and teenagers until you can A)adapt to the point that your as good as you were with southpaw, B) start liking butt whippings, or C) quit in frustration.

I think it needs to stay as an issue, at least until Ubisoft makes a more official statement on the timing of said patch, or that they will not be releasing one at all.

My 2 cents.

I have one question Cobblers, why would you close the other thread about making a Southpaw controller? I feel that thread should be re opened. It doesnt flame ubisoft or anyone the guy is trying to get a company to make us a Southpaw control and he had some people backing up his idea.

Cobblers....Thank you and you have my full respect. I apologize for my last harsh comment in the other thread. We just want to enjoy Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter on our new $400 console like all the other Ghost Recons games before it.

We don't enjoy being outrage, we just want to support UBiSoft and for them to support us as well. Thank you for your honest efforts and concerns. Without YOU, we would not get a foot in the door.

I'm just hoping that if a patch does come out it will change the thumbsticks only. I don't want the left trigger to be shoot. There was a couple games like that.

If it is ok with Cobblers, I would like to continue this list to send a request to Madcatz to develop a SouthPaw controller. We still don't have an official SouthPaw patch from UbiSoft for GRAW yet. While other developers such as EA's Battlefield 2:MC will not "ever" support Southpaw option. Please keep this thread civilly and remain highly respectful to Cobblers. You own him that much. Together, lets continue the SouthPaw push. Thank you.

Thanks for putting the list in there, though I think the list really represents the following, and is not limited to its original request:

- a request for a madcatz southpaw controller
- a request for a patch from ubisoft to add southpaw controls
- a request for Microsoft to patch the 360 dashboard to allow the system, and not the games, to swap the controls for the stick. This is possible, since a chunk of RAM is dedicated to the dashboard/xboxlive functionality whenever any game or dvd is running.

Indicentally does anyone know if Oblivion has southpaw / legacy? thats now the next game I'll be buying (if it does)
