“This situation shows the use of cover by the main character and his teammate. The MC is used leaning left because he is protected by vertical obstacle, while the ghost is leaning down, taking advantage of a low obstacle. You can also see that the cross com interface allows the call for support even in the heat of action, such as locking an ADAT to call an F15 air strike.”

Daggone Razz, where ya been hiding at? 2 posts that I know of in a months time is rare for you. Thanks for a pic that I can confirm is definately a PC screen. Wink2

It also looks as if GRIN got rid of the health bar since I met with Bo.

True indeed, guess im just frustated.
No info whatso ever and now IGN claims its canceled. makes you wonder doesn't it?

Also now that the console versions are out its only a matter of seconds/minutes/hours/days/weeks/months/years/centuries that some info of Lockdown PC will emerge from RSE/ubi

Anyways i won't talk anymore about Lockdown here.

IGN claim lots of things, don't listen to them. I'm trying to get something now for Lockdown PC but it's still in development and intended for release Q1 2006 - we have released a Q&A with PC specific answers before, please remember that Wink

I'm lovin the graphics! The blue corners of the HUD are a lil bit cheesy tho. Oldschool ret is a nice detail. What are the yellow bars at the bottom left of the screen? A round of beer for GRIN Thumbs Up

Those may be taking the place of the health bar I had seen at Leipzig. The health bar I had seen was at the top of the HUD in the center and solid, not segmented.

Hi Razz, will the enemies have the same ability ( various kinds of leans ) ? That is essential for balanced gameplay.

Its alright....

I dunno if its the resolution of the game or the hud is just overly large.

The threat indicator, needs to lay more flat and be slightly smaller

ammo needs atleast a small bullet or ammo icon.

The LOCKED text is way to big IMO, needs to be much much smaller and maybe glowing effect like a laser or halographic sight or if worse comes to worse no locked text at all.

Adats is a good size but it needs to look like its glowing too.

the reticule ... it bothers me dunno why. I guess the army may have somthing that locks on and uses a square lock ret...

but i like this one more... imagine it where its like a sonar pinging a ship on radar... but it pings it ever second or so.

Other then that looks fairly good, the trees look to dark thoe and the textures are rather blurry up close. Im hoping that there will be some better eye candy graphical wise, like bump mapping, and normal mapping.

Am I the only one that doesn't see The Emperor's New Clothes? It looks like the game we've all waited for so long has: highly stylized low resolution textures (not much better than Ghost Recon Onezy), a bizarre, huge, fluffy and not at all realistic implementation of an anamorphic HUD with an arcade color scheme that might be fine on a Hello Kitty or Barbie's Magic Playhouse game -- but is ridiculous and over affected for a serious tactical realism game, and depicts a perposterous scenario...

While this is just one shot showing the game, and we have have no idea how or why it was taken -- and it may not accurately represent the final product, or even the design intentions for the final product; I find what's being depicted rather disappointing and worrysome...

Calling an air-strike on what appears to be an armored vehicle by two "Ghosts" (or about to be) within spitting distance and well inside the blast radius of any Anti-Armor ATG munition I know of; combined with all the aformentioned fluff screams arcade, hyper, fantastic, magic, psych-up-the-retards to by another neck down game...

I hope I'm dead wrong!

If you guys think that posting these screens and comments are a waste of time then I'm quite happy not to do it anymore - saves me some work.

Well if that floats the boat of your/Ubisoft's idea of PR, go for it... But perhaps something more constructive might be productive to promoting understanding and selling the PC version of the game?

Perhaps answering things like:

â· Why do the PC screenshots appear to be lower detail then Xbox shots?
â· What is the resolution of the textures used in the PC game?
â· Can you call an "Air-Strike" within ten meters of the intended target, loiter and live?
â· Are there any HUD options, and/or will it be modable?

Like it or not previous RSE games set precedents and expectations -- and rather high ones at that as far as what defined tactical realism for the PC audience...

Significant deviations from what made these previous games popular and so coveted; especially in the direction of more arcade: affectation, less realism, and more superficial game-play is bound to disappoint fans of the "franchise".

If expressions of disappointment, concern, and criticism of a design direction that is not being clearly communicated with the trickle of information and only two screenshots is too challenging or threatening to the veracity of actually doing PR for the game; why even have a public forum?

It's more that your reply implies that the screenshot and comment wasn't good enough for you, and others on this forum, and if that is true then we might as well focus on other things, surely? It's a waste of my time, the developers time, and your time reading it if you don't think they're of any use. Personally I would like to believe that interactions like this are of use and would like to continue, but if you're not happy with it then feel free to say so.

When possible we will answer as much as we can but we can't do it on a ad-hoc basis as things get messy, missed, confused, etc, so we try to structure them properly.
