This is a small screenshot from polish game magazine . Smile

What does it say ?

Well if someone has time and know polish please translate it :P I'll only translate what is new .
..............
-After many tests the batlefield was reduced to 8x10 size.

-when battles are in dynamic mode you only have few seconds to make a move

-Before the battle starts in "tactics mode" players place their units in two rows of their battlefield side.

-there is a tip that some units may attack three units ahead of them ... This tip is directed on the minotaur picture so just maybe this is a minotaur special ability.

In this magazine there is also info on ghoust mode : ...
In ghoust mode inactive player will control a ghoust and advanture with it on other player field ... Ghoust can take some actions like posssesing the neutral creatures . So if one player fights with some neutral creatures the second one may control them and act to make this fight dificult .

The option for this ghoust are : haunt, passes, curse, devour, guard i vision ...

OMG, is it just me, or does everyone else also has flashbacks from Etherlords?
Especially Etherlords II, i was gonna say that those cards look new for Etherlords III maybe, as they are set up so nicely in a row, I mean jeez, talk about reusing old interfaces...
But then again, that's just the dynamic battle mode, and no one's gonna use it anyway (at least not me!)
But the batelfield does look nice, and with all these articels coming out with more and more bits of the game, I really feel like we're getting closer to having it released Smile

so... all in all Googly Profile Cool

Yeah, most Heroes players will surely lean towards Turn-Based mode instead of the dynamic one. But the ATB bar....that's there for both forms of combat. The difference between the two are small. Notice the #7 on the picture in the lower left corner? That's the timer for the dynamic mode. That's it, that's the only difference.

Now, the Ghost-mode....I'm really looking forward to trying that out. I personally haven't had the pleasure yet.......YET. :O)

That comment about attacking 3 units ahead of them....I'm not sure, but I'd bet that was referring to the hydra/cerberus and they mistakenly pointed to the minotaur.

Lastly, the battlefield size....hmmm...that seems awfully small. 8x10? I guess we'll have to wait and see.

In one Age, called the Third Age by some, an Age yet to come, an Age long past, a wind rose in the Mountains of Mist. The wind was not the beginning. There are neither beginnings or endings to the turning of the Wheel of Time. But it was a beginning."

ok.. I`ll give it a try
from left side:
-after many tests, the battleground was finally changed to "chessboard" size 8x10
-heroes can`t be target of attacks, but they can attack opponents creatures, cast defensive and ofensive spells
- when you choose dynamic mode, you have only few seconds to make another move. How much? It`s described on the picture of active unit

from right side:
- before the battle begins, with "Tactics mode", players place their units, every in two first rows of their own sides of the battlefield
- every creature attacs in slightly diffrent, characteristic for their own way, for instance:
concentrate on the enemies standing on the second row or by one hit he target 3 units standing before him
- the initiative bar shows the order of creatures movement, it depends on the initiative factor, cast spells and so on

sorry for my bad english.. if someone could polish it it would be great Big Grin

EDIT: If I could get the full scan of this article I might give myself a try to translate it.. anyway I don`t have money to buy any magazine :/

8x10? That way creatures that occupies 4 tiles will not have enough room. A hero with seven large creatures on his side would need AT LEAST 14 tiles of rows...

wasn't the battlefield goingto be based on the size of the armies? The picture show 8x10 because the larger army have 4 stacks, so that magazine may be just guessing. I just think that 8x10 is not enough room.

Sandro i think u are right, but the 8x10 battlefild can be true, because:
-large creatures could occupy only 1x1 or 2x1 field
-heroes may not be able to have seven large creatures in their's stacks

Still, i think that the 8x10 field is WAY TO SMALL, and will not let any player win using his tactics.

Real time strategy mode has its own advantages and turn based strategy mode has its own advantages but Ill probably stick to TBS since i dont like to make a lot of mistakes and make fast moves.

Good to see you got the magazine, CaRoSh. Smile

A complete translation would be appreciated. Though I think it has been summarised pretty effectively already. Also a bigger scan if you've got one.

Wow, this is really cool, the ghost mode really reminds me of the multiplayer script I made for H4 a year ago or so, the basics are really the same, the inactive player take controll over the neutral units when a human player is attacking them so it becomes human V.S human. Of course the way the ghost mode is working is more advanced but really, your options are a bit wider if you are real programer makeing a brand new kick @ss game Big Grin

I don't believe that the battlefield will be only 8x10,it's too small! However, in one of the russian articles they mentioned that there will be only one size for it. And the dynamic mode looks interesting to me.It wil definitely make battles more intense, especiall Human VS Human! And the ghost mode is wicked. I'm looking forward to it.

let say it like that if 8x10 map size is a problem they whod have fix it by now. we will also know when we are testing the game in the open beta..
so let just wait and see and hope for the best if it is a problem we can complayin when we get the open beta and if it is such a large problem the they will change it i hope

8x10... I think this is a misteiky
Like Sandro sayd is to small. I personali would expect a 15x20 (thats 4xtimes larger) Heroes is a tbs... i thin its useful to have more room for tacti.

And the unit placing.... We will see, but this way u cant realy expect haw to enemy will atack. i think its quite confuzing, I like the old system beter
