Registrations are open for the closed beta of Heroes of Might and Magic V! Register now for a chance to help balancing the game and discover first-hand the new Might and Magic universe.
The closed beta will begin mid-September and will last approximately 2 months.
A thousand testers from all origins and all playing backgrounds will be recruited; if you're new to the game you still have a chance of being selected so please answer the questionnaire honestly.
To take part in the beta you'll need a good internet connection in order to download the initial files and updates. Please make sure your PC has the latest drivers and updates as the code will not be optimised at this stage yet. Of course, knowing a bit of English will be more than helpful
Finally, you'll be asked to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA). Make sure you understand the terms and conditions, especially regarding confidentiality.
First, a warning. What you will be testing will be a BETA version. The game will not be complete, many bugs will occur, many visuals will not be final, the experience will change during and after the test. This is the whole point of a beta test : to try the game and change things while it is still possible. That implies playing with a version that could get frustrating. We will detail as much as possible the points that shouldnt be considered as final.
You have time to register. We wont select people based on when they registered. However be sure you filled the form correctly ! We need all the details.
We will be selecting people with all the possible playing backgrounds, as said in the announcement. We are not only looking for the die-hard fans who played every little mission of every addon.
You dont need to be 18 to enter the beta test, however you will need the agreement of your parents. Their responsibility would be engaged in this case.
Hotseat mode should be included but this is to be confirmed. The map editor will not be included.
You will download the game and play it from your place. We didnt ask for the pc specs in the form, but your computer needs to be quite up-to-date. The game when you will receive it will not be optimized, thus will need some computing power.
How you will send feedback will be detailed later.
The game will be downloaded, as well as the updates. This is when a good connection will be required. You will also need to be connected to play online, of course. You will need to connect to send your feedback, be it automatic (the game will collect statistics), or written.
The NDA were presented only for information at this stage. When installing the game you will sign them electronically. Be sure you know what you sign. Confidentiality will not be breached without consequences.
