As many know I just upgraded my Bass to gorgeous sr500 (pics in other thread) and so ended up with two basses along with a small bass practice amp and an old marshall practice amp.

I have been reading on peopes posts how they inproved slowly by trading up as they went to the point where they now own guitar warehouses of equiptment (prs and rcole I'm looking at you here lol)
so I thought I would give it a go so took my old amps and bass and off i went to cash convertors,
Walked out of cash convertors with £150 (%150 profit :D) and headed over to guitarguitar as I had been toying with getting a line 6 spider 15watt from them at £84.99.

As i got towards the shop I happened to put my head into cash generator as some shiny guitars had caught my eye and spotted this priced at £120.

got it rigged up and plugged in and gave it a try. didnt sound to good but I noticed it was on a user preset turned it down and selected a factory set... ooooh sweet, by this time the manager had walked over saying he thinks it may have a problem so will take an offer.

I hummed and harrred for a bit saying it may be expensive but if he would take 80 I'd see what I could do, And here it is, got home switched it on keeping A pressed and reset it to factory, perfectly working line 6 spider 3 75w for less than the price of a 15.

I feel quite chuffed with me.

so here is the new family pic

notice the main culprit for all of the gas and aas on top of the amp.

Also, this took a LONG time to get to play. I had the DLC on my Xbox and I don't know what happened to Rocksmith since I started playing primarily on PC but it takes it 5 minutes to get to the point where it has loaded content. Seriously, it's unplayably slow. Fire up the game and I'm playing bass like 10-15 minutes later.

It also took it another 5 minutes to save the game (via options screen) after I added this to an event. Is there some magic way to reset whatever crazy cache or something it has gotten stuck on? Delete DLC? Sacrifice a tofurkey? If this was my day to day Rocksmith experience, I would never put up with it.

So does anyone have any idea? Hopefully this will get some attention in this forum. It's seriously getting to a ridiculous level now. I have to allow for 10-15 minutes of "startup" if I want to play Rocksmith on the Xbox.

Hello, first time poster here :)

First of all I'd like to mention Rocksmith is helping me A LOT with guitar. Well, actually, after I watched a demo, it MADE me want to learn guitar. I love it!

But I'm having a little issue: I'm a bit color blind: to my eyes, the green&yellow, and Blue&Purple color combinations look the same. :( This is not a problem during songs (I can tell the notes & strings by their height on the screen). So far, so good, now comes the real problem: As a guitar noob, I have this terrible problem of playing the wrong string during a song, so Rocksmith suggested me the game Super Ducks, which is EXACTLY what I needed! Problem is that, for me... I can see only 3 colors of ducks, and had to give up after an entire night trying to get used to the colors T-T (I hate my eyes)

So I'd like to leave a suggestion for a patch here, or an option to be toggled ingame: Add something (floating sign, a little cape, a helmet, pair of shorts) on each duck with the name of the correct string on it. The color continues, but now we see the ducks with the e / A / D / G / B / E letters on them.

Apologies if this post is in the wrong place, BTW

But using this method rocksmith says the guitar is out of tune. if i tune it according to rockstar it's out of tune slightly and sounds like sh!t, especially with chords. Most of the strings are out of tune testing it. and chords sound really bad.

...It looks like it to me as the number and speed is higher, but I'd like to double check with someone who knows processors a little better than I do before I buy anything.

I started out being able to play Rocksmith normally on the laptop I have, then it started to lag and freeze for no apparent reason within a couple of minutes of it being opened. I was advised to buy a new laptop by support, which of course I was not going to do for one faulty game alone when it worked perfectly well with everything else, met the minimum requirements for said game anyway and ran it perfectly well for a couple of months. One of the creators asked me through Twitter to email a specific address with details but of course I never heard back. I didn't really expect to since support had been so dismissive already.

But anyway. The laptop that I have now will probably soon be in need of replacing now anyway as it has since developed a couple of other faults. I could buy parts for it, but I figure I might as well use the money that those parts would cost me anyway to get something new. So I've been having a look at a few different models and have just come across a Clevo Logiq, which I've never heard of before, but which seems to have pretty good specs. The processor is listed as "Intel Core 2 Duo T6600 @ 2.20 GHz" and the graphics are integrated. Can anybody confirm for me if this meets the "E4400 @ 2.00 Ghz" minimum requirement for running the game, please? Thanks in advance.

With a new Xbox being revealed on 5/21, does the new hardware mean that Rocksmith can be easily improved?

I'm assuming that the new Xbox will be backwards compatible and have a faster processor.

For Example...

1) Audio Lag
2) New interface via minor programming changes
3) Use of audio controls thru Kinect instead of relying on a controller

Maybe Ubisoft will see the new Xbox as a chance to make small improvements?!

Well after another couple of days in pain because I stupidly thought my neck was okay enough to play bass I decided the fender copy had to go or I would have to give up on bass, walking around like I've filled my shorts is not a sexy look whether holding a guitar or not.

So after a hard decision I have sold a couple of items and bought this

An Ibanez SR500BM with twiddly shiny bits and a clicky switch. Tried one in the shop the other day and was instantly hooked, light 24 frets and a very nice sound which can be changed with the flick of a switch or tweak of a dial.

would love to hear from anybody using one as I'm still relatively new to bass and a bit of help with general settings would be great.

Does anyone know if is there's a mean to get my profile back, as it would be reaaaly tedious to unlock and level up everything again (tips for devellopers, give us the possibility to set a default difficulty level).
I'm using rocksmith on PC with Steam cloud enabled.
On one computer steam says that it can't sync, but on the other one, no problem. I've created a new profile and I see it on both computers.

So after taking a break from RS (for PS3) out of frustration, I fired it back up again and absolutely nailed California Brain (except the end of the solo, which i just slopped over) scoring a good 30k over my previous best on my first attempt in months.

Then I let it go through the replay, because it was awesome.

Then i go to move onto the next song, it shows me my new "holy water" pedal, and changes screens to save. ..it's still on that screen 20 minutes later. (stupid candy crush game distracted me or i would have turned it off already)

So... to bring me to the point of this post.

Is there any kind of update from the devs we emailed our info (including saved game files) to regarding this issue?
You know, since being able to save progress, or heaven forbid actually play TWO songs before it locks up would be pretty fantastic at this point.

I used the tips found here to fix my latency issues:

However, after doing so, every so many minutes the guitar stops transmitting to the game. Like, I strum and nothing comes out the speakers. If I alt+tab out of the game, and then back into it, it works again... but that's annoying to have to do in the middle of a song. Is there any fix for this? Without resorting to changing the settings that I changed to fix the lag? Thanks

I want to bring to your attention an issue that Valve has not provided us any answer with at the time of this writing.

Recently, three new Maroon 5 songs were released on Steam. Whilst they could be purchased, they never show up in-game. We were all billed normally, tried verifying game cache, restarted Steam, but no new Maroon 5 songs. Could someone please look into this and resolve the issue or at the very least give us a refund?

Many thanks!

Last year, I bought my Stage Five pedal board from Guitar Center. I also purchased the warranty coverage. The 18 volts never worked on it, so I've always had to power my TC Electronics Nova Delay with it's provided power supply. I called and reported it, and they said they would look into it. I received an email a couple days later that read You will receive the reimbursement of $199.99 plus any applicable sales tax in the form of a gift card made out to the name as listed above, and mailed to the address listed.

Yeah!! Now, I have two items that I will purchase immediately. One will be the footswitch for the Tascam US-366 that I got for my birthday today so I can punch in, etc without having to reach across my guitar to the DAW or laptop, and the other is a box of guitar strings. Happy Day!

Now, I will open my Stage Five and fix the 18 volts and I will have a pedal board and $200! :D

The new gear is a Tascam US-366! This is the piece of DAW mixing equipment that I was waiting for to start my guitar videos and lessons. Not to outdo anyone but there will be ZERO backing tracks, so this will be 100% me.

Hey guys, I just wanted to throw my opinion out there. I really love this game but I can't help but wish there was a few more features. Every time I come back to play this game I am wishing there was an online component.

1.Being able to jam with others on songs online would be awesome.
2. Playing in amp mode with someone over the internet would also be amazing.
3. Another idea I had was being able to make recordings that you could upload and share with others.

I'm sure these are not easy things to implement, but it would take this game to another level in my opinion. Maybe for Rocksmith 2?

Happy New Pedal Day

One of the cool things about Rocksmith are the different tones that go with the songs. The problem with all those tones is trying to purchase all the pedals that create those tones. So for the past few months I have been looking at Multi-Effect pedals. I wanted one that was specific to Bass and that I could play with before buying. So yesterday I was at the big box guitar store and they had the Digitech BP355. I had read mostly positive reviews on the product and really liked the way it is set up. I played with it for about an hour and I just was not sure but then the sales guy told me that they were having a sale and if I didn't like it I could return it up to 30 days. How could I say no, so I picked one up. I must say this pedal is great. It has so many features to list and I am still learning how to use them all. Just a great purchase.

Hey guys, I've owned Rocksmith since the first day it came out and love it, I was so thrilled that someone had finally made this kind of game possible. The only place I can fault the game is the fact that you can't change string colours, I don't know how the game is made and if this is possible, but the ability to select the colours of each string would perfect this amazing game, being colour blind, the g and b strings are often really hard to tell apart. I know it is possible in other games as it was there in audiosurf so if it is possible I would personally love to see this feature added... Pretty please?

Are there any other colour blind people in here who have also found it difficult?

All the best,

I built the cab myself to pretty much the same dimensions as an Evh 1x12. It has a 12" Celestion Evh series in it with a closed back. All I can say is wow what an improvement, it makes the fender speaker in the combo sound like two squirrels banging tin cans together and calling it guitar noises. My wife even said it was better and was glad I bought it. That in and of itself means it was a good buy. I didn't cover it or make a grill because I wanted to make sure the cabinet was sound worthy. I used extra cabinet grade plywood leftover from stuff I've built for customers(I'm a carpenter/contractor). So with the speaker and parts I got from reliable hardware(tnuts, feet, handle, and input jack) it only cost about $200 total. Now I hope I don't f it up trying to tolex it. :)

I'm an early adopter of Rocksmith. I pre-ordered the game and picked it up the day it came out in the states. I love it. I'm only a novice player but I'm having a blast with the game. I was thinking about getting the bass expansion and just happened to be on the Gamestop site looking up some other things when I notice that newer versions of Rocksmith come with the Bass already on-disc. This is truly annoying since I already paid $80 for the game and now if I want Bass I have to shell out another $30. I know this is gonna fall on deaf ears since game companies do this all time but seriously, they could have done at least some type of discount for those that have pre-order editions.

Right now, on steam disucussions, there seem to be a significant amount of threads complaining about some features of the game for instance, and whether or not these threads are being paid attention at all even on the official forums, I find that it's pretty half-assed not giving anyone at least some sort of hint that the steam discussions for RS are left unmoderated, at least from RS developers and staff.

Morning all,

I loaded up Rocksmith on my PS3 this morning for my regular weekend strum and to my horror saw that I'd been bumped down from Elite Bassist to International Headliner. This was not the best way to start my day. After reaching Elite status last Sunday, I backed up my progress to a memory stick. Thinking this would solve my problem, I reloaded the game data from the stick and restarted RS. Unfortunately I'm still an International Headliner, and completely gutted to say the least. Is this just bad luck on my part or has this kind of thing happened to anyone else?

Hey everybody,

It's been almost half a year since I got my Schecter C-1 Custom, and I'm starting to GAS again. Well, maybe it's BAS. I'm thinking I'd like to start playing a little bass. Since I'm not sure if I'll really get into playing bass, I tried looking on Craigslist first for some cheap used guitars. Most of what I'm seeing is in the $100 range, which is cheap, but not much less than what I'm seeing some new instruments sell for.

In particular, this Schecter SGR C-4 for $199 on Amazon caught my eye:

But I really don't know what to look for in a starter bass. Does anyone have a recommendation on either this Schecter model or any other starter bass? $200 would be the absolute upper limit of what I would want to spend. $100-$150 (used or not) would be much better.

Thanks!
