			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>Hello all! I bought Anno 1404 Gold on Uplay because I can not buy Venice on Steam. After installing it only Anno 1404 shows up in Uplay as one of my games. Venice is installed correctly but I can not find a way to activate it. On the invoice I had an activation key which I probably used for Anno 1404 (base game) because it does not work for Venice.<br />
<br />
How can I activate and play Anno 1404 - Venice?<br />
<br />
I also encouter a very disturbing problem while playing Anno 1404. At very random times the game suddenly freezes and I hear an annoying sound. Then I can not return to desktop or whatever else. The only option is to reboot the pc, reload my latest quick save and continue playing. What can I do to solve this problem?<br />

I tried searching the internet to find a solution but have not found one.</div>

I bought this game back on the 1st I have been trying to figure out why I cant download it and it seems to be something to do with your servers. as when I try that download link I can get to about 70% and then it fails. below is my launcher_log .<br />

hopefully I can get someone that knows how to fix this issue here I kept getting the run around from your support system I have tried downloading your client and uninstalling/reinstalling it over 30 times now no dice.<br />

I would like to be able to use the license for the game I purchased what can you do to make this right<br />

i bought anno 1404 gold edition 3 days aggo on uplay. AFter installing and updating the game i created an online profile with no problems at all. but when i click on multiplayer - internet then i get this message saying username or password invalid please contact support. but as you might expect all help the support gives you is 'try reinstall the game and check if you ahve the latest patch installed'. i hope someone can help me out of here or this will be yet another ubisoft game i bought just to see error messages popping up on my screen over and over again.</div>

Things I've done:<br />
<br />
<b><font size="2">Port forwarding<br />
Added exception to both firewall and AVG<br />
Reinstalled<br />
Reset host file<br />
Tried running it as admin<br />
Tried running with avg and firewall disabled<br />
I have also sent a ticket to the ubisoft support with no reply yet</font><br />
</b><br />
<br />
I think there is something blocking uPlay from connecting to the internet but I don't know what it is or what it could be. <br />
I had uPlay working a while back when I had FC3 but since then I've done a fresh install as I got a SSD.<br />
<br />
All help would be appreciated.<br />

There is nothing wrong with your game. Its your idiotic uplay client where you tried to copy steam and origin, and sure i hear complaints about origin but i have had absolutely 0 issues with it.<br />
<br />
Right now my games aren't even appearing in the uplay client and first few links in google are all saying it takes between 20 minutes and 2 days for the games to appear. This is the worst digital delivery method i have ever experienced.<br />
Now on to why i stopped playing might and magic in the first place - game syncing - good idea, horrible implementation. I can now clearly remember sitting for up to half an hour on either my pc or my laptop trying to get my save games to sync prior to playing the game. It literally got to the point where i didn't play your game because i didn't want to deal with the save game sync before and after i finished playing your game.<br />
<br />
So finally, is there a way i can play the game that i paid, without having to deal with your horrible store? Because its implementation is disgusting to say the least. We are in the digital age where people expect things instantly and we have been in this age for  while now, it is not too much for people to expect that. If you can't deliver an efficient uplay client, revert to steam and save everyone the pain of your client because all steam did was try to run it through your client and now im stuck here at a blank screen for a game i purchased yesterday saying &quot;Your games will appear here&quot;. It's a joke and if i can't play my game by tomorrow ill get myself a refund and join what i am sure is already many players who would rather not buy your games just so that they don't have to deal with your client.</div>

There have been countless times where the launcher would just stop working and I had to uninstall uplay and re install.  Sometimes it removes all entries properly and others it does not.<br />
<br />
As many will testify, when this happens you have to scour the registry for the proper entries to delete in order to actually install the launcher because if you don't you will get the error &quot;newer launcher already installed&quot;  when there are no entries in the add/remove program or in your program files directory.  <br />
<br />
So, what do you do?  Send ubisoft a support ticket?  I would not recommend this as you will pull your hair out with the slow replies (if at all).  I always list as clear as possible what I have already done to solve the problem in a numbered list that is as clear as one can make it, but without fail 100% of the time you will get a pre written replie that asks you to do each and every item that you listed so clearly.  Clearly they do not read the support request that you send and they will never fully read the follow up you send stating that all that has been done.  Typically over a month I will get the same answer to each and every request for the first month until I just can't take the waiting to just reinstall the launcher.<br />
<br />
So, the best be for fixing anything ubisoft is to search the internet.  I have read in many places that there are hundreds of claims files with the BBB and other similar entities as users get so frustrated being ignored for months on end, understandably.<br />
<br />
But, if you were to ever have to uninstall and re-install ANY of the other services (Steam, Origin, Gamestop, etc...) The uninstall does sometimes fail to remove the registry entries , but when you install, it sees that and asks if you want to do a fresh install.  Every service does this but uplay.  <br />
<br />
My question is why, if this is such an issue do they NOT take the example of their much bigger competitors and write the code in to do a fresh install instead of the dead end &quot;you have a newer version installed&quot;?<br />
<br />
I am sure that it all ties into the problems with support reading your tickets, the lack and sense of immediacy and most of all the plain fact that they could care less about their customers and to fix this would be a wast of their time.  This crappy launcher was written and that was that, no updates, no fixes to the most requested support help that they fail to answer properly as they do not read the questions.   <br />
<br />
Ubisoft has lost all my respect over the years and I have completely stopped shopping for anything via uplay and I only buy new games that I really really want to play, nothing else.  And it's always through Steam.  Even if part of my purchase is getting to them, I hope that they are getting less at least as the prices are the same and surely Steam takes a cut for all the service that they provide flawlessly.<br />
<br />
Once I re-installed windows and the games that were on that drive were never recognized as not existing (something that all the services seem to be able to do).  2 months and only 5 support questions 4 replies (the last one was along the lines of you suck)<br />
<br />
Basically the point here is for anyone that is new to uplay or has had it with their support and all the errors (most of wich have to do with the intricate DRM that they can write, but not support it through the launcher by updating it.<br />
<br />
With Anno 2070, there is a major issue that still persists where new installs sometimes just cannot login, no matter what they do and ubisoft will not provide a solution because it has to do with your computers sharing setting which mean that they have put blocks on those who share files within their home network, I guess they have gone as far with this DRM as to reach into our PC settings and refuse to let us play online (which is necessary for Anno 2070).   You will find the answer searching the net, but not in 2 months of questions/ BS answers that ignore the question content because if they did, it would be clear that the problem was caused by their DRM and it seems that they just do not support fixes that have anything to do with their DRM and the problems that it causes, just because it would make them look bad, they like to make the user look as though it's their problem and never once have they had me look at any of the far reaching issues with the DRM and the problems it causes that they dont:<br />
1. Review Crash reports<br />
2. Review error reports sent to them<br />
3. Update the launcher to at least fix the problems automatically so that they can at least look like they have a purpose in this world.<br />
4. Most importantly, they refuse to read support requests fully, every request is handled by a different person and the laft hand know not what the right hand does, but it is very good and consistently misreading the support question every time.  I just was reading a this forum and saw no less that 7 times where they actually did this on the forum the same as they do when you contact them,<br />
<br />
I would stay as far from them as possible, not buy their games, unless you really want it, and then, don't give them the satisfaction of buying from them.  This way your support requests can inundate Steam and hopefully piss them off enough that they eventually give them the boot from their service, that would be great, to actually see some kind of sobering actions taken on ubisoft for all the misery and time and frustration that they have caused by ignoring the customer and spending all their time trying to prevent you from letting your little brother play the same game on another PC.  They are a joke and should be publicly outed for this consistently bad service and business practices.<br />
<br />
Ubisoft and uplay are the worst service out there and even though services like EA and Origin have even worse DRM, it works and does not cause so many issues.  Plus they can fix your problems fast as well.  They have some degree of customer appreciation, but these losers have none and we need to find a way to post publicly every support thread to show the world how bad they are.  Surely if we did it here, it would get removed by the ubiSS.  So, it would have to be somewhere else very public, like Facebook.</div>

Myself and many other people here would like for there to be an ability to change your name. Before I selected mine, and I had just chosen something random at the time, I knew that in Steam and Origin, you could have the ability to change your display name, and I had figured uPlay would allow this as well, however you do not. I ask you all sincerely to add an option to do so, because I'm not happy with one name for too long, and the inability to change my name is uPlay's largest con. So far I don't particularly care for it, and not having the ability to change my name kind of makes things worse. I practically use this name on everything Internet related, from the forums here to Far Cry 3 multiplayer.<br />
<br />
Please try and make this one of your major plans for uPlay. I am not a programmer, so I do not know how hard this will be, but I do ask that you add this feature whenever you are able to.<br />

I have finished all the campaigns with all factions (including final with all faction), but the game doesn't acknowledge that fact. I haven't got upaly award points (40 points for finishing all campaigns with all factions) and it still shows, that I need to finish the sanctuary campaign and haven't beaten all semigod creatures &#8211; all of which is untrue. I have tried to correct that by loading a saved game and finish final campaign again couple of times, but no change. Therefore I cannot receive 40 uplay points and buy a new hero, Veyer (or unlock dynasty rank which I'd preferred).<br />
Can You help me solve the problem? I don't feel like starting sanctuary campaign all over again just to see that it doesn't matter either...<br />
<br />
I think it's build 1.8.0 (polish). I've read news about 2.1 patch, but the game usually check itself if needs to be patched or upgraded and it didn't so I guess its still the latest build.<br />
<br />
By the way, I can't unlock (or buy) fourth dynasty rank, which is worrying me as well. It's weird since recently you can buy (using uplay points) fifth rank. There isn't any uplay awards to buy either using uplay points or in the game. I've got second rank for the brazen points, third for the silver points, but neither golden nor platinum offered any rank. I've double checked all I've said.<br />
<br />
I have Pirates of the Savage See (already finished) and recently bought Dense Macabre. I plan to buy Shades of Darkness once I complete Dense Macabre, but I'd like to solve (with Your help) the problem with missing achievement (and 40 uplay points) as well with forth dynasty rank, which as I have read somewhere in the forum, some got in golden tab and were able to buy.<br />

I hope You can help me solve the problems.<br />

I just bought Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon. First I downloaded it. But then, I had to do an installation, another download and then I was confronted with this uplay bocks. <br />
Why?<br />

FC3 Blood Dragon is a 15 bucks game for crying out loud. The Deus Ex collection still costs 40 bucks. Deus Ex doesn't need uplay, Blood Dragon does.<br />
Dear Ubisoft, you make good games, but this is stupid. I will drop some Wisdom for you:<br />
<br />
1. &quot;Pirates&quot; are 2 kinds of people. Those that steal games for the thrill of stealing. The others are the ones who don't have the money to buy games, like teenagers. Neither are potential customers.<br />
2. Steam is popular, not because it's a DRM platform. It is popular because it offer<b><u> all the games</u></b> from <b><u>all the companies.</u></b>, while having FREE popular  MULTIPLAYER games life TF2 and Dota 2. The DRM is at best secondary.<br />
3. DRM makes customers angry . I think I can live without further Ubisoft titles from here on out. Go harass console playing sheep.</div>

 its been a while since i logged in to Uplay and i can see a few security improvements since then,<br />
i own another account i used to play and still playing with all my games i have through STEAM,<br />
login to Uplay require only the user name and password i remember just fine but the websites require the Email to log in,<br />
the problem is, i dont remember which email i used for the account since its been long time ago and i changed lots of emails,<br />
<br />
i cant find a way to update my old account's Email through Uplay i must log in to the website to do this... any suggestions?</font></div>
