I just startet playing AC and happened to come across a huge problem after playing a little.
maybe its just me being too dumb, but i cant start my first mission in sequence 8. I get the hint to meet hickey. But where the heck is he?! I thought he was in NY 'cause it was mentioned the sequence before 8, but i seem to cannot travel there.
I open the map, click NY... and nothing happens. I really dont know why and its freaking me out 'cause I dont get anywhere. Do I have to go somewhere else?
So please, share your wisdom with me if you know what I do wrong.

So I pre-ordered AC3 and haven't played it on PC for quite a while due to the FPS problems. I had actually gotten another copy of it for the Xbox 360, and although I prefer the PC, I had no choice as the game gets from 5 - 10 FPS at best. I have the following in my computer:

  • NVIDIA GeForce 8400GS
  • AMD Phenom II X4 B55 Processor - 3.20 GHz
  • 4 GB of RAM


I have all my settings turned all the way down both in-game and in the .ini file. The ini even is set to DX10, and it still gets this FPS. I set the file to read-only and even set Uplay to start in offline mode in order to get the FPS higher.. I even put the resolution down to 800 X 600. Can somebody give me some suggestions that might help me make the game run better? I really love the game and my Xbox recently broke, so this is the only chance I have.

Problem: For the last two nights I have been trying to play just ONE match, leaving my computer on searching for matches all night. Every once in a while I see someone else's name in the player list, but then they're gone after a few seconds. I'm playing at night Australian east coast time, which would coincide with early morning for USA, but surely there are lots of players outside the US/Europe? I've looked in the $28 'Official' Guidebook, in the Animus Training- in game, and the PC Key's Cheat sheet- nothing. It doesn't really suprise me; it's what I've come to expect from this company's miss handling in many areas.

2) Is there a website known that devotes itself entirely to PC play? I'm unable to use an XBox 360 Controller, and I find it extremely humorous that console players say by using a keyboard, it's nothing more than 'point & click" senario. Nothing can be further than the truth. There are a lot of popular good games that the programmers have incorporated 'special' moves by utilizing certain keystrokes along with R/L mouse clicks. Really no different than by how you use an XBox Controller- press 'A', then X', and at the same time move 'L Stick' in the opposite direction you want, all the while as you're standing on youir head facing West. This just verifies that UBIsoft doesn't know how to incorporate the keyboard properly through programming code.

Really, this is one long animation that's unlocked sequentially by successfully pressing certain button combinations in the right order and in the right time. There's not a lot of strategy or tactical planning required by the player. Yet the backgrounds, animation sequences, and the story line is interesting enough to entice the player to continue playing, rather than causing them to throw the game through the living room window.

Als ich mir das Spiel gekauft und installiert habe, hab ich den Code natürlich ohne Bedenken sofort genutzt. Nun habe ich folgendes Problem:

So I've recently purchased this game and I got a major issues already.
My problem: Hugh lag.
When I was on the boat My FPS: 51 - 61.
When we arrived in Boston FPS: 8 - 25
It jumps from 23 to 16 to 8, lowest was 4fps in boston.
And I can run Crysis 3 at 50 fps Ultra-settings, what does this mean?

Specs:
GPU: nVidia GTX 650 GDDR5 - 1GB
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition - 3.40Ghz
RAM: Corsair 4GB - 1333Mhz
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate - 64Bit.

How come I can play newer games at max settings without lag but this epic game not?

Most men back then has long hair tied back and clubbed. It's in every re enactment, movie, documentary, cartoon yet not here in this game. All soldiers cut their hair short in this game, which makes no sense sicne in the trailer E3 they had appropriate hair, so it's really frustrating. I don't understand why Ubisoft did this, did they think we'd be too dumb to differentiate Haytham and his buddies from the other plain NPC's. DOn't tell me it's about oh too many threads and strings and stuff because there are generic NPC's with appropriate long hairstyles, but they're stiff so no problem. Why couldn't Ubisoft give this hairstyle to soldiers? I just don't understand, it really broke the immersion for me. At least in Black Flag, the soldiers seem to have accurate hairstyles... Also, why did continentals have uniforms during the battles of lexington and concord? It was all militia, and ubisoft has militia skins in game so why didn't they...
