Hey guys. So I recently started getting back into this game and I have a question about multiplayer. My buddy also has this game but plays on his xbox on his profile. So, when he plays on my xbox he has to start from 0% progress on songs. Which is completely ruining multiplayer for us. Is it possible to get his progress onto my xbox?

We tried downloading his profile onto my xbox and uploading his save to the cloud, and loading that way. But it didn't work. It took awhile and we were a bit buzzed so I'm not sure if we did it right.

Did we do something wrong? Or is it just not possible?

Thanks

Hi and welcome to this weeks challenge, featuring The Animals classic hit House of the Rising Sun. It's about a ***** house (no sh*t) and includes such chord shapes as G, C, F and Am.

After googeling it I found out it's actually a cover of an old traditional folk song. That is probably common knowledge but I didn't know, anyways the Rules:

__________________________________________________ ___________________________________________
1) A song and particular arrangement will be posted before Tuesday every week.

2) There is one single division for all players. To foster a fair, fun, and competitive environment, players' appropriate skill level to compete should be:

Able to level some easier songs to 100% mastery, such as Song 2, Go With The Flow combo, Angela, or chord arrangements. Most other songs will be partially leveled.

Also for people who are;
New to guitar. No songs really leveled to 100%.

If you're unsure if your skill level is appropriate, feel free to join in and if you're too good you can join the main forum challenge the next week. You can also go back to the previous week's challenge thread and compare your scores.

3) Entries must be made by replying to the song thread with your score, accuracy and note streak (this way we won't have to sift through post content). For example:34,033 | 33 NS | 78%. Also please fill out the linked spreadsheet, to get your score up. Don't have a fancy site like rocksmithchallenge.com yet.

4) All submissions for the main divisions should be in standard rehearsal or performance mode, even for songs that are mastered.

5) Please only submit one result per song. If you play the song later in the week and do better, go to your original post and edit with the replacement score and pic.

6) To be entered in the competition you must submit a picture of the song results replay screen (showing score, percentage, and note streak). A single entry is required for the competition (with percentage, note streak and score from the same run).

The winner will be determined as follows:
Highest score.

7) All entries must be in before Monday, so by 11:59 Sunday night (based on PST Time Zone or UTC-8 internationally)

8) Songs will be chosen based on votes. If you wish to vote, pick a song from the list of eligible songs and arrangements and include it in your post.

9) In the event of a tie between songs, the highest placing competitor after the winner (i.e 2nd place) from the previous week will cast the deciding vote.

10) In the event that the winner does not respond to a PM notification to start a new thread by Tuesday, the winner of the next category in the rotation will be notified to select an arrangement and start a thread.

11) NEW rule! At least one week of on-disc material per DLC song. So if DLC has been chosen, the following week have to be an on-disc song.

Weekly Bass Song Challenge Rules:

1) A song and particular arrangement will be posted before Monday at 12:00pm (noon) PST every week.

2) There are four competitive categories. To foster a fair, fun, and competitive environment, players should self-select into the category that best describes their ability. This categorization should remain stable from week to week, unless a player determines that they have initially self-selected into the wrong division or that they are ready to move up into the next division.

Division I: Can level most songs to 100%, and can play most songs proficiently - 95+% accuracy.
Division II: Can level several songs to 100%, may have trouble accurately playing them at that level. General accuracy 85-95%.
Division III: May level some easier songs to 100%, but others will be partially leveled. Regularly scores 70-95k.
Division IV: New to bass and guitar. No songs really leveled to 100%

There will also be "honorable mentions" for score, note streak, videos, and master mode entries (these entries can be separate runs from the main competition entry).

3) Each participant is allowed to make a single entry in the division they have selected. All submissions for the main divisions should be in standard rehearsal or performance mode, even for songs that are mastered. Master Mode entries will not count towards the competition scoring.

4) All styles of playing the arrangement will be eligible for submission and included in the final results, but to be eligible to win a division the arrangement must played using a real bass guitar in the style suggested in the game (self-declared on the honor system)

5) Entries must be made by replying to the song thread with your score, accuracy, note streak, division and playing style (i.e. Bass or Guitar, plucking with fingers or pick) in the title (this way we won't have to sift through post content). For example: Div I - 124,033 | 389 NS | 98% | BF.
Legend: BF = Bass Fingered, BP = Bass Picked, GF = Guitar Fingered, GP = Guitar Picked

6) Please only submit one result (score + accuracy + note streak) per song. If you play the song later in the week and do better, go to your original post and edit with the replacement score and pic.

7) To be entered in the competition you must submit a picture of the song results replay screen (showing score, percentage, and note streak). A single entry is required for the competition (with percentage, note streak and score from the same run).

The winner will be determined as follows:
Division I & II: 'Mastered' entries (purple score bar) are scored ahead of 'Non-Mastered' (orange score bar) results. The 'Mastered' entry with the highest accuracy wins (entries are ranked by accuracy). Score then Note Streak will be used to break ties. The 'Non-Mastered' entries are ranked by score below the 'Mastered' entries.
Division III & IV: The entry with the highest score wins (all entries are ranked by score).

8) All entries must be in before Monday, so by 11:59 Sunday night (based on PST Time Zone or UTC-8 internationally)

9) A separate thread showing the results and the winners of each division will be posted by the previous week's winner, and the selection of the following week's song will be the responsibility of one of those winners. If the previous week's winner has not started the results thread by Monday at 08:00am PST, the results thread and announcement of song selector will be carried out by a volunteer forum member.

10) We will rotate the responsibility of selecting the next song and arrangement each week starting with Division IV, III, II, then I. Rinse and repeat.

11) In the event that the song selector does not start a new thread by Monday at 12:00pm (noon) PST, a volunteer forum member will start the thread using the selected song as noted on www.rocksmithchallenge.com. If no song is selected (or if a recent song is repeated), then the song selection of the second place entrant in the winning division will be used (then third place etc until a new song is chosen). It is the responsibility of each player to watch the outcome (e.g. by looking at www.rocksmithchallenge.com) to see if they have won, and to assume the responsibilities of song selector in that case. The song selector need not wait for the results thread of the previous challenge to be posted before starting the new thread for the new challenge.

The entrants in the song selecting Division for the current week must enter their song selection in advance in the results site (www.rocksmithchallenge.com) before Sunday at 12:00pm (noon) PST so that players in other time zones can participate on Mondays. To enter your song selection go to 'challenge details' and manually type your song choice in the 'next song' column, or ask another forum member to do so in the main thread. Failure to do this may result in you missing your chance to choose a song, as noted above.

12)The winner/song selector must PM Black_Widow9, Mr_Shade, rcole_sooner, T_O_A_D after creating the Challenge Result thread, with the winners.

Division IV winner will select the next song.

Oi!

I don't think anybody reads this, if you dodo, (hehe) have a cookie!

Rules:
1) A song and particular arrangement will be posted before Tuesday every week.

2) There is one single division for all players. To foster a fair, fun, and competitive environment, players' appropriate skill level to compete should be:

Able to level some easier songs to 100% mastery, such as Song 2, Go With The Flow combo, Angela, or chord arrangements. Most other songs will be partially leveled.

Also for people who are;
New to guitar.

Link to Scores Spreadsheet. Please fill out with your score, NS and % and some other weird questions.

This is not the challenge your looking for (sweeping hand).

Rules:
1) A song and particular arrangement will be posted before Monday at 12:00pm (noon) PST every week.

2) There are four competitive categories. To foster a fair, fun, and competitive environment, players should self-select into the category that best describes their ability. This categorization should remain stable from week to week, unless a player determines that they have initially self-selected into the wrong division.

Division I: Can level most songs to 100%, and can play most songs proficiently - 95+% accuracy. Can master songs like Mean B!tch, Chimney, Good Enough etc.
Division II: Can level several songs to 100%, may have trouble accurately playing them at that level. General accuracy 85-95%.
Division III: May level some easier songs to 100, but others will be partially leveled. Regularly scores 70-95k. Can level songs like Song 2 single note, Go With The Flow combo, Angela, or chord arrangements to 100%.
Division IV: New to guitar. No songs really leveled to 100%.

4) Entries must be made by replying to the song thread with your score, accuracy, note streak, and Division in the title (this way we won't have to sift through post content). For example: Div I - 124,033 | 389 NS | 98%

5) Please only submit one result (score + accuracy + note streak) per song.

Division I & II: 'Mastered' entries (purple score bar) are scored ahead of 'Non-Mastered' (orange score bar) results. The 'Mastered' entry with the highest accuracy wins (entries are ranked by accuracy). Score then Note Streak will be used to break ties. The 'Non-Mastered' entries are ranked by score below the 'Mastered' entries.
Division III & IV: The entry with the highest score wins (all entries are ranked by score).

7) All entries must be in before Monday, so by 11:59 Sunday night (based on PST Time Zone or UTC-8 internationally)

8) A separate thread showing the results and the winners of each division will be posted by the previous week's winner, and the selection of the following week's song will be the responsibility of one of those winners. If the previous week's winner has not started the results thread by Monday at 08:00am PST, the results thread and announcement of song selector will be carried out by a volunteer forum member.

9) We will rotate the responsibility of selecting the next song and arrangement each week starting with Division IV, III, II, then I. Rinse and repeat.

10) In the event that the song selector does not start a new thread by Monday at 12:00pm (noon) PST, a volunteer forum member will start the thread using the selected song as noted on www.rocksmithchallenge.com.

The entrants in the song selecting Division for the current week should enter their song selection in advance in the results site (www.rocksmithchallenge.com) before the end of the current challenge so that players in other time zones can participate on Mondays. To enter your song selection go to 'challenge details' and manually type your song choice in the 'next song' column, or ask another forum member to do so in the main thread. Failure to do this may result in you missing your chance to choose a song, as noted above.

11)The winner/song selector must PM Black_Widow9, Mr_Shade, rcole_sooner, T_O_A_D after creating the Challenge Result thread, with the winners.

The winner of Division III picks the song for next week.

Link to results site: For it to work, your entry must be in your post title (use the 'go advanced' button to edit the title, see rule 4 for format).

Division I winner will select the next song.

I've unlocked everything except the digital delay pedal, and of course, that is one of the effects I want to the most ;)

What do you have to do to unlock it? I've been maxed out on Level 11 for a long time now, and just went on a mission last night to unlock the rest of the guitars. Mission complete by just doing two song events ;)

EDIT:

The description on the pedals say to reach the TONE UNLOCK score, but what song has the dig delay?

Used to post as tacole27, but for some reason it now logs in as TICO6394...WEIRD! DId the login change to email address? I think I used to login with just username...oh well. No biggie

EDIT: actually still have two modulation pedals locked too...phaser and octave (fun ones)

Last EDIT: Figures, it was ISLANDS that unlocked digital delay for me. One of the few I hadn't played but once or twice

Good participation in Div I & II, though I really hoped for more Div 3 & 4 participation because I think this song has a lot to teach new players. That's actually a big part of why i picked it. Good country rock chord shapes on the middle of the vetse bit, good arpeggio workout, and good to work on the transitions throughout the song. I really hope Div 3 and 4 people go back and give this one a go.

And I <3 the tone in the song.

Good job to everyone who participated!

PS: Seriously impressed with rocksmithchallenge.com. I had to dig a bit to find who created it again (Nyariah, your 'About" page doesn't actually say who to PM or mention you anywhere :P) but I'm seriously impressed with the engineering behind it. Kudos for making this so much easier.

Weekly Bass Song Challenge Rules:

posting for jj-bb

7) To be entered in the competition you must submit a picture of the song results replay screen (showing score, percentage, and note streak). A single entry is required for the competition (with percentage, note streak and score from the same run).

9) A separate thread showing the winners of each division will be posted by the previous week's winner, and the selection of the following week's song will be the responsibility of one of those winners.

10) In the event that the song selector does not start a new thread by Monday at 12:00pm (noon) PST, a volunteer forum member will start the thread using the selected song as noted on www.rocksmithchallenge.com.

Division II winner will select the next song.

4) Entries must be made by replying to the song thread with your score, accuracy, note streak, and Division in the title (this way we won't have to sift through post content). For example: Div I - 124,033 | 389 NS | 98%

5) Please only submit one result (score + accuracy + note streak) per song.

The winner of Division IV picks the song for next week.

Link to results site: For it to work, your entry must be in your post title (use the 'go advanced' button to edit the title, see rule 4 for format).

G'day mate!
It's yet again time for your favourite challenge, a place for beginners and almost beginners and a place for moderators to come in and whine!

My friend told me I play too little classic riffs he knows. I played the riff from this song, he didn't recognize it so I don't listen to him anymore.

Rules:
1) A song and particular arrangement will be posted before Tuesday every week.

2) There is one single division for all players. To foster a fair, fun, and competitive environment, players' appropriate skill level to compete should be:

Able to level some easier songs to 100% mastery, such as Song 2, Go With The Flow combo, Angela, or chord arrangements. Most other songs will be partially leveled.

Also for people who are;
New to guitar.

Link to Scores Spreadsheet. Please fill out with your score, NS and % and some other weird questions.

Here is a List of Songs / Arrangements with difficulty from 0 to 2 that are eligible for entry.

Play with yourself!

Wait, No I mean... well you know what I mean!

I'm not sure how it would work or where but I'm sure some of you must have done something similar before. And perhapsif there was good support maybe Ubi might even spring a few dollars for sponsorship/subsidy :D

I'd be happy for an excuse to pop over unaccompanied to the States sometime
I've scored 100,000+ on the technique challenges "shifting" and "sustains." I've also scored 500,000 on "Ducks." But I still think my fingering stinks. I'm getting the right fingers on right frets, but I have a feeling I'm doing so in a completely wrong way.

Is there some kind of fingering drill that I'm missing? Or is this something I need to learn on my own?

I know this has been discussed many times, but if you are a beginner like myself, and you string layout is the game default, you really should consider inverting the string layout to match that of standard tablature. I want to be able to play Bandfuse right out of the box (if it is ever put in a box) and to be able to read the multitude of guitar tabs on the web, in books, etc... I figure I have not gone too far and I have been looking at a lot of tabs so I figure now is the time. I can use the songs I have already learned as a guide to getting used to the different screen layout. It may also be helpful as most of the "lead" parts I have run into so far are on the lower strings and the other strings won't be in the line of sight (as much) in the visualisation? Something to think about!

I never had my new issue as much as White Wedding, howver... repeating quarter and eighth notes miss detection even if I'm playing it perfectly. Rarely does it miss single notes, but instead misses long streaks of them. Anyone ever found a definite cause for this and possible solutions?

The winner of Division I picks the song for next week.

Link to results site: For it to work, your entry must be in your post title (use the 'go advanced' button to edit the title, see rule 4 for format).
