Well, a bit of. It still requires a 3rd party program to map the controls because the game doesn't recognize all the buttons of a X360 pad (not sure it will work with other pads). But the biggest problem of this game is the mouse wheel speed control, so to be able to use the joystick, go wherever your game is installed, go to "system" and open "SplinterCellUser.ini". Then find the lines "JoyX=" and "JoyY=" and add so it looks like this :

JoyX=Axis aStrafe DeadZone=0.3
JoyY=Axis aForward DeadZone=0.3

Save and close, that's it, you've enabled full analog stick support in the game. To check that, once in game make a new profile (not sure it will work with your current profile), scroll your mouse wheel up so Sam is able to run and you can move around with the stick at your desired speed.

Now all you have to do is to map controls as it suits you best. Good to know, the stick doesn't work to pick locks, so you still want to map up/left/down/right somewhere or keep your keyboard next to you. I did this with Pinnacle Game Profiler, not sure if other programs have the ability to assign multiple controls to one button with the press / hold feature.

So in order to make it work, I have to decrease the polling rate of my mouse to 125 and that fixes the speed but not the precision. Its impossible to move/aim in straight lines. When I try to aim higher slowly, it diverges to the side on its own and when I want to aim either to the left or to the right, it moves up and down on its own as well.

I'm having problems getting my CD key working on CT. I did a couple of quick searches but couldn't find anything relevant to my problem,
A mate came to my house, downloaded CT and entered his CD key on my pc.
Later I purchased CT through Steam so we could play online together. Of course now both my game and his game are registering the same CD key when we try and play online together or at the same time.
To rectify the problem I have tried uninstalling and re-installing both Steam and CT at different intervals, installed both Steam and CT to different locations and different HDD's and even tried deleting the registry for Steam and CT. Still the problem persists and I can't seem to get CT to register my CD key instead of my friends. Could anyone please help me fix this? Also I have tried launching Chaos Theory through the .exe file and creating different profiles/ubisoft accounts and still had no luck.

I've finished the first mission for double agent and I went through it smoothly.
Now I'm in the prison and it was going by smoothly as well but when I went further and quicksaved and tried to quickload, it just crashed.
From then on loading my game kept making the game crash halfway through the load, saying "SplinterCell4.exe has stopped working" and I haven't been able to play ever since.

I've been looking around for solutions

I've tried:
- making a shortcut for SplinterCell4.exe and adding menu.unr -ll at the end of target
- Checking the following boxes in the compatibility tab
> Run program in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3
> Disable visual themes
> Disable desktop composition
> Run as admin
- Editing the FullscreenViewportX & Y in SplinterCell4.ini

But none of these solutions worked. Still crashing.
I saw one of the solutions involving rolling back um .. the display driver I think to 266.58, but from what I understand that's only for NVIDIA.
