I am trying to figure out what the licence plate of the trailer of Zandi is, but what is obvious so far is '7500' and 'FTA'. Can anyone fill in the rest (or parts) ???

Well, its definitely the 1991 plate on the bottom row (duh). Does anyone know what is the significance of "FT" ? There is also text under the main number and above the "New Mexico USA" that appears to be non-standard...
This IS a plate for a trailer; maybe that's all it is.
Usually characters like the FT and such indicate that it's for farming use or something similar.

Alright, that New Mexico USA at the bottom seems obvious (I should have seen that myself ). I have done some minor photoshopping, and just for the total picture.
But that stuff between 7500 and New Mexico looks strange, none of the plates that were found looks even remotely like that
And that above 7500, that is the city name or something (I am not that familiar with Mexican plates or Mexico for that matter).

The plates are New Mexican, not Mexican. New Mexico is a state, just like Texas or Florida. Although, in my experience, it is a rather odd and unusual place... my lovely wife was born there, in Roswell (and yes, she is very alien).
The plate your looking at is not a vehicle plate, but rather a trailer plate, which is why it doesn't quite match the vehicle plates shown in the example images.
I examined the plate last year, during the beta; a friend of mine in Santa Fe checked it against state records, and (at that time) it was not a valid NM registration. Of course, the registration only needs to be valid if the trailer were being towed on a public road.
I would guess that right under the large alphanumerics it reads "LAND OF ENCHANTMENT" - any takers? The squiggles at the top on either side are the blue-green hills seen in the 1991 photo, and the county name is at the top center. Now what does "FT" mean? Well, "MH" (in the same format) stands for "Mobile Home," and "RV" stands for "Recreational Vehicle." Maybe "Freaking Trailer?" - nah. "Farm Truck?" No telling where that plate was really installed...

Hogarth1, yup, those pics sure look like places we've been. I've been doing some poking around also, and found those cones are likely in Petroglyph National Monument Park, Bernalillo county, N.M. Some of the Petroglyph pictures I found look really familiar too. I'm sure the UO guys have been all through this stuff, but its new to me. Cool! Sorry to go OT.
The first two pic's look like Acrylic paintings to me! Not too sure about the last one, but none of them look like Photographs to me...somehow they don't look real.
