If you played GRIT or the original, you'll remember the Guillie Suit. Now that we have 3rd person, I want it back.

i say
how can you have a jungle map in a game and not have a guillie suit?! man what are they smoken?! i gotta get me some! j/k but yeah, i don't get why it didn't make an appearance either for at least MP, or in the DLC package... i mean, did u see the stuff for GR2? i mean... a freaken turkey man! lol... |

I think this is a very legitimate topic. A sniper team in the field consisting of never more than 2 ppl ( a spotter and a sniper) would do all in their power to blend in with their environment . It might not apply in a desert setting seeing as how they would likely die from dehydration while trekking around in a gullie suit. It would be equally ridiculous in an urban area as several of the maps are in this game , but it would lend itself quite well to certain maps. 1 way or the other I think it would be very cool to be able to make camo options like this available for specific classes . Especially since you took the time to make specific classes . Sure you can choose the camo for the whole team but individual options would be really cool. At least the ability to change the color of the vest these guys wear. The 2 available and non-customizable vest colors tend to make your character stick out like a sore thumb in several of the maps . I prefer the marksman class for many of the maps but say I'm playing nowhere night or the dry docks, I really don't want to be stuck in a brown vest that shows up all too well at night when compared to the olive drab vest ya know what I'm sayin ?

Actually there should be a ghillie suit for desert. It would be a big green sujaro cactus suit made of urethane foam, with a circular face cutout on the front. Your arms would go into two branches off the main trunk. Sure it may look a little strange having a giant cactus running around on Old Town, but it could be really effective on Desert Gulch or Nowhere.

lol, that would be hilarious. would be tactical but at times I would just wear it around on maps like shipping port just to mess around with people. |
||||
|

Oh yeah Shipping Port. That would be a wooden crate with leg and arm holes cut out. Whenever you go prone, it would withdraw all arms and legs back into the box and you'd be well-hidden. Crouching would be box-on-ground but still having your gun at the ready.
There could be "suits" for all the maps. Maybe a cluster of garbage bags for Old Town, complete with buzzing flies. Then every time you dive onto the ground a rotten tomato and a couple moldy tortillas might pop out. That would be great. --The last thing I want to do is hurt you. (But it's still on the list.) |

you would be basically invisible on river depot, jungle mines, or the back of wharf. With no NV that would be awesome

and the whole point |

So Serellan, what do you have to say. I know you are watching... Im dying from suspense here.
Since its obvious an overwhelming percentage of the community want it old and new players alike. Shouldn't it be implemented? ---Signiture--- James aka "SPQR Semaj" Original Ghost Recon Gamer |

I know exactly what you're saying. I like the sniper class, but having a tan vest with black, woodland, urban etc. is just plain dumb. Usually what I do to compensate for this is turn off the class bonuses so I can use a rifle man with the dark vest and it doesnt affect my accuarcy. Now about what you said regarding the ability to customize your character. RSE needs to look long and hard at Chromehounds. People spend more time messing with their mechs than they do fighting. If we were able to change the color of the vest, pants, shirt, helmet, WEAPON etc. The PC version allows you to customize your weapon. They even let you put a silencer on a XM8. you can put different camo on different weapons. If GRAW had the ability to simply allow us to customize on multiplayer, this game would at the top of the charts forever. |

GRAW PC needed something to compensate for the sheer lack of guns. its got what?
10 total? feeling kinda jipped i didn't at least get an M4.... though someone is modding it (and i got the beta whoop!), not that GRAW PC supports mods without a crash to desktop, or worse. and no, you cannot cammo the guns only add mod parts ala RvS style modification. i do question though, how come the F2k was shown in the opening, was even in GR2, but never made an appearance in GRAW, instead is the MRC with a camera and it couldn't hit the broad side of a barn at point blank with that camera atop it, let alone a bad guy, i got killed just to rid myself of that thing... overall the 360 version got the better deal and most in the PC version agree on it, even if ya can't manuely mod yer gun. though i agree, some personal choice woulda been nicer, it was there in previous games, but lacking in this one :/ i'm curious why RSE and Grin both threw out what made previous versions of GR such big hits and went with this new stuff, not that the 360 version is far from the mark, but it still lacks some of the little things that made OGR and GR2 nice. PC version on the other hand... thats as far off the mark as trying to compare OGR to Aliens Vs Predator (intended exageration) |

|
I think it'd be a nice addition, but I don't see how it would work, unless the whole team wears them. I guess they could do it as a type of headwear...
I don't think it matters that there are jungle maps and no guillie suits. There is snow camo and no snow! |

This is a good 1 too but I think Hideao Kojima might think you were ripping off his card board box idea and make a big stink about it |

The thing I miss most about the ghillie suit from the original was acually looking like a sniper when you're moving through a map. I just wish now that we have a great 3rd person/over the shoulder, that we could acually see what we are hiding in.

Speaking of which, wouldn't it be cool to be able to momentarily pop your camera off your shoulder and have it show you what you do look like? You wouldn't want people exploiting it for 3rd person camping, but it would be nice to see yourself against your background and know how well or poorly you are hidden. good idea for first person shooters

A short birds eye view that you can only see from head to foot, or only when one is prone. Something that wouldn't allow you to use it to let you peak around corners without exposing yourself. The 3rd person action thing for RB6 Vegas might be a dawn fall, Sure it only works when you are up against the wall but it should only be against walls no a barrel or a rock. I can see to many things wrong that could happen with that idea, however; if it works well enough, maybe they could use it in the next recon game. Please bring back the battlefield and open huge maps. |

Maybe your little "mirror check" doesn't render any other characters or non-map objects, so it is purely to check yourself. I'd also like to be able to pan my head around without moving my body. I didn't know they let guys into combat wearing a neck brace. Remember Mortal Kombat? You can pick up the game, smash some buttons and play at a certain level. But if you take the time to memorize all the complex moves, your playing rises to another level entirely. This "modular mastery" can be implemented in any game like GRAW. You wanna play like it is now? Nothing is different. BUT, if you take the time to learn all the complex moves, you could look around with just your head, raise yourself incrementally out of the grass, press yourself better into a corner, dual-wield a couple pistols, etc. "Negative, Ghostrider; the pattern is full." --The last thing I want to do is hurt you. (But it's still on the list.) |

That suit also ruined Socom3...... I love GRAW and I dont think it needs to come here. Too many people lay in the weeds and camp as it is. Just my opinion though. |
