I've been thinking. Admiral Razorbeard--why was he destroying planets? What makes him in command of the Robo-Pirates? More importantly, he's a ROBOT. Hence, somebody had to have built him. He obviously hasn't destroyed every planet he's visited, because he has an acquaintance with the salesman who sold him the Grolgoth. Could they be somehow related, or was the salesman in a phonebook? Maybe the salesman's species built the original Robo-Pirates?
Probably the most important thing to note is Razorbeard's name. "Admiral" is not a title of supreme rule, but rather a ranking in war. If Razorbeard is only an admiral instead of "captain," which could be taken as just a generic title (as in he owns the ship), then who ranks above him? Admiral isn't the highest rank. This may mean somebody was in charge of him; I earlier joked that this was Razorwife, but it probably isn't. Who could it be? Obviously the Rayman games have not revealed this. In R2, Razorbeard escapes. But he returns in R3 GBA. So he must have gone somewhere--and wherever he went Razorwife must have been. And wherever he went, that place must produce more Robo-Pirates. Where did he go? This topic is to contribute what you think the answers are. Mind you, these are SERIOUS answers, so think about things for a moment. What would a logical answer be, given what we know from the games? My original post count is 1774 + Whatever it says below |

If only we had a "Zan Sideria of Rayman" here, he could find the answers. to all of these questions.

Maybe Rigatoni IS in the series, and he's Captain RIGATONI!
All this time, I've been calling him Kingpin Rigatoni but he might be captain! I still think Rigatoni is a Kingpin, Big Man, Godfather of some sort of mob. |

MR. DARK. Obviously... He didn't die, no, he went out and created Robo-Pirates to get ultimate revenge on Rayman and all his friends. He was the one that gave Razorbeard orders- yes, Mr. Dark himself! Back to get Rayman. I also think that perhaps he had some relation to the Leptys...

: Well, I think that the Robopirates came from another planet. Maybe Earth? All the events that happen on planet Lum could be centuries after this present time on Earth. : Nah, I think Sonictay might be right. : OH YEAH! Agree with some one you don't even know, instead of agreeing with someone you have known for all your life. : I'm just sayin' that if what you said was the truth, than that would mean we’d would be in the past, and we never did get into a time machine, did we. : ....*sigh*.....no.... : OK, that proves my point....or, Sonictay's point. : No, it proves your point. Because Sonictay, or what Ravior calls him, "Tay", just expressed a theory. He wasn't trying to make a point, like what you were doing. : ....um....yeah. : Hey guys! The door was open, so I just walked in to see what you guys were talking about. : D-didn't we just kill you in the latest Episode? : Yes, but this conversation isn't actually happening. You see- : HEEERE WE GO.

admiral actually outranks captain. the only rank above admiral is fleet admiral or admiral of the fleet (uk and us respectively). and for australia, admiral is the top rank.
lachimax wrote a fanfic called "return of the robo-pirates" which featured some commander who's name i can't remember as razorbeard's superior, but admiral outranks commander too. does this help? What I meant was that by calling him "Captain Razorbeard," one may use the connotation that he owns the ship and is the leader of the pirates. "Captain" is of course outranked by "Admiral," but "captain" is also a generic term for the owner of a ship.

i think they just wanted something a little different, nearly every pirate villain has captain before his name. admiral? who's going to see that coming?

About that captain thing, well, he's only the boss of one prison ship. There are probably a lot of planets R2 didn't talk about and were invaded by robo-pirates, and the leader of them all would be their captain. Makes me think... how would (s)he look?
And where he went? To one of the two moons, I guess. The pirates came from the moon, didn't they? Oh, and @Rabox: I think "The Captain ( of the prison ship ): Admiral Razorbeard" would fit better |

what? as i said earlier, admiral outranks captain. in other words, admiral is a HIGHER RANK.

I imagine the Robots' home world as a space-sailing ship about a million miles long, sending out Buccaneers with Admirals in all directions, capturing planets...And I think the Grolgoth salesman IS Mr Dark, manipulating Razorbeard to destroy Rayman by selling him a Grolgoth at a price just high enough that he wouldn't get suspicious, because:
A: Neither Grolgoth salesman nor Mr Dark have limbs B: They have the same gloves C: Both their heads are joined to their bodies(strange for a Raymanian) D: They are about the same size E: The only part of Mr Dark you see are his eyes F: The only part of the Grolgoth salesman you don't see are his eyes |
