A couple years ago, before the forums got hacked and all, when I was a guest, not a member, somebody said, word for word, more or less,
"You get to see Mr Dark's face in the Gameboy version of R1. That guy has a WEIRD face!" No, I'm not insane, this actually happened. Does anybody out there have the ORIGINAL GAMEBOY version of Rayman, so we can find the truth in this? Thanks  |

Uh, no. You don't see his face. Nope. Nadda. I mean, after you defeat him, he turns into a weird purple soul like thing that has a distressed face, then he vanishes. But that isn't his face. |

A weird purple soul like thing? Now that's VERY intriguing! Do you have any pictures of it that you could post? I tried google, it's no help at all.

Nope. It just didn't get enough publicity. There are several pics from the game, but NONE of them are pictures of the battle with Mr. Dark.
BTW, the purple soul thing isn't his face. But, after you battle him, and you haven't broken all the cages, his robe turns out to be a stack of anti-toons, and the robe and hat just fall down to the ground. But then, you see Mr. Dark's shadow looming over Rayman when he falls asleep, meaning you didn't defeat THE Mr. Dark, and only a decoy. Of course, I'm not gonna tell you what happens if you DO break all the cages, and defeat him. HEE HEE HEE |

So...do you see the purple thing after you defeat the antitoon-decoy, or do you see it after you beat the real Dark?
And when you defeat the antitoon-decoy and the robe turns out to be antitoons, what's under that robe antitoon-robe? |

No, you see the purple soul thing as a sprite, either way. But the Anti-Toon decoy appears in a cut scene. And the robe isn't made out of Anti-Toons, Anti-Toons are under the robe. Basically, Mr. Dark ran away at the last minuet. But if you broke all of the cages before reaching him (cheat codes are the only way) and beat him, that means you beat Mr. Dark, and the real Mr. Dark dies for good.

Could you...like...fight Mr Dark on the Gameboy and then take a picture of the purple thing, scan the picture and then post it?
The purple thing is Mr Dark's ghost or something, right? |

No can do, I don't have a scanner to do that, or the correct emulator. Trust me, if I did, I would of ripped all the sprites, cut scene images, levels, and everything else, a long time ago.
And I'm not sure whether it's his ghost of not. Maybe it's just something Ubi did to make his death more cool looking. Or it could be his dark soul just dieing away. I'm not really sure. :\ |

Nah. There's only one video of the game, and it's just someone playing through the first Airy Toos level. Of course, the comments flame the game pretty badly, mainly because the quality of the music is a bit lowered in the video because of the emulator the maker of the vid used. They say that the game is a piece of **** and what not. Also, they say it's inferior to the original Rayman 1. Maybe, but it's defiantly has A LOT of good points that the original lacks.

You know, you can download the PS1 version of R1 to your PSP's memory stick from PlayStation Network and play it on PSP.
You can also download it to your PS3's hard disk. *wishes he knew how to connect his PS3 to the internet* |

You mean "GBC" as in "Game Boy Color" right?
Yeah, the PS1 version is better in certain ways, but there are things that the Game Boy Color version is better in. |
